Live Music and Entertainment in Middle Georgia this Weekend

Macon and Middle Georgia has many venues for musical performances and entertainment events such as the Macon City Auditorium (Photographer Nate Weeks)

This week many people will be focused on eating delicious meal with family and friends or frantically going Black Friday shopping but there are plenty of others who prefer evenings of live and loud music at one of the many event venues throughout Middle Georgia. This article is for the latter group and is by no means a complete list of all the entertainment opportunities this weekend.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 24th

PRE-THANKSGIVING KARAOKE AT SERENITY ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX (9 p.m.- 1 a.m.)

This evening of karaoke will be hosted by DJ A.D. Baby and include a special guest performance by Whitney Waters. 

There is no cover charge for this event and Serenity Entertainment Complex is located at 427 Poplar Street.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25th

LOREN MICHELLE ("BLACK FRIDAY EDITION") AT SERENITY ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX (8 p.m.- 1 a.m.)

Loren Michelle will perform live with Royal Dynastie hosting and DJ Phi spinning tunes. 

The cover charge is $10 and Serenity Entertainment Complex is located at 427 Poplar Street.

ACOUSTIC WORKSHOP WITH SPECIAL GUESTS AT THE SOCIETY GARDEN (8:15 p.m.)

Brothers Josh and Shane of the band Takeout out of Ashville will perform for this annual post-Thanksgiving Society Garden tradition.

The cover charge is $15 and The Society Garden is located at 2389 Ingleside Avenue.

BLACK FRIDAY HELLFIRE CLUB KARAOKE AT REBOOT RETROCADE AND BAR (9 p.m.)

This event is a Stranger Thingsgiving (think Netflix's Stranger Things show) and features karaoke. Costumes are encourage and this show is for those 18 years old and up.

There is no cover charge and Reboot Retrocade and Bar is located at 566 Cherry Street.

MIKE VEAL BAND AT GRANT'S LOUNGE (9 p.m.)

The Mike Veal Band performs a combination of styles, from blues and rock to funk. Veal grew up in Macon and Milledgeville and has sung with the Sansara Show Band. Veal performs with friends he has known for years.

Tickets cost $10 and Grant's Lounge is located at 576 Poplar Street.

BLACK FRIDAY EVENT AT A BROOKE HAVEN LOUNGE (9 p.m.)

DJTKS will perform at this event on Friday night.

This event has no cover charge with reservations inside seating made by calling (478) 259-6759. A Brooke Haven Lounge's dress code is at minimum business casual.

A Brooke Haven Lounge is located at 499 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

3.NIGMA AT JBA (10 p.m. - 2 a.m.)

3.Nigma will perform music starting at 10 p.m. until 2 a.m.

JBA is located at 499 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

HIP-OH LIVE AT THE HUMMINGBIRD (10 p.m. - 2 a.m.)

Hip-Oh perform their own versions of popular songs with a funky influence. 

Tickets cost $5 at the door and The Hummingbird Stage and Taproom is located at 430 Cherry Street.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 26th

DUELING PIANOS DUBLIN AT SALTWATER FISHERY IN DUBLIN (8 p.m.)

This event is a sing-a-long, a comedy show, and a musical performance all in one. Saltwater Fishery is a seafood restaurant with a rooftop bar and beach theme.

Saltwater Fishery is located at 110 South Jefferson Street.

ALLMAN FAMILY REVIVAL AT THE MACON CITY AUDITORIUM (8 p.m.)

The sixth annual Allman Family Revival returns to Macon on Saturday night. This concert will benefit the Big House Museum and will feature The Devon Allman Project, Duane Betts, Jimmy Hall and more with special guests The River Kittens. The doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Tickets start at $35 and the Macon City Auditorium is located at 415 First Street.

MAPLES CROWN AT WILD WINGS CAFE IN WARNER ROBINS (8 p.m.)

Maples Crown will perform classic rock, similar to their performance in the YouTube video embedded below of The Doobie Brothers "Listen to the Music".

Wild Wing Cafe is located at 714 Lake Joy Road in Warner Robins.

THE HEADSTRINGS AT AMICI MACON (8 p.m.)

Headstrings is a collective of talented musicians headed by Scott Baston of Moonshine Still. They perform original songs as well as occasional covers. They recently performed at The Society Garden for The Fly Infestation in October.

Amici Macon is located at 1510 Mercer University Drive.

OPEN MIC COMEDY WITH TALL TREY COMEDY AT REBOOT RETROCADE AND BAR (9 p.m.)

This open mic comedy is hosted by comedian Tall Trey and is for those 18 years old and up. The list of comedians performing will drop at 8 p.m. and the comedy starts at 9 p.m.

There is no cover charge and Reboot Retrocade and Bar is located at 566 Cherry Street.

ALLMAN FAMILY REVIVAL OFFICIAL AFTERPARTY WITH MELODY TRUCKS AT GRANT'S LOUNGE (9 p.m.)

This is the official afterparty for the Allman Family Revival show that takes place at the Macon City Auditorium earlier in the evening. Melody Trucks (of the Melody Trucks Band) will be the special guest host for this event.

Tickets cost $15 and Grant's Lounge is located at 576 Poplar Street.

TROPIC REGGAE VIBES PARTY IN WARNER ROBINS (9 p.m. - 2 a.m.)

This party event features real Reggae and takes place on the last Saturday of each month. Attendees will hear Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Afrobeats & Urban from DJ Chris Black. This is a show for those 21 and older and is advertised as a show for peaceful, mature audiences.

The cover charge is $10 at the Tropic Reggae Vibes Party takes place at 1281 South Houston Lake Road in Warner Robins.

HARVEST MOON PERFORMS THE MUSIC OF CROSBY, STILLS, NASH, AND YOUNG AT THE SOCIETY GARDEN (8:30 - 11 p.m.)

Harvest Moon is a tribute band from Atlanta who perform the music of CSNY who were formed in 2018. Harvest Moon is composed of the following: Guitarist Rob Gunther and Keyboardist Henry Davis (both original members), Brad Berry (Mock of Ages and Carpool) is on drums and vocals, Wade Carreker is on bass and vocals, and Meg Scalise is on vocals, and finally Grant Reynolds is on guitar.

Tickets cost $10 in advance or $15 at the door and The Society Garden is located at 2389 Ingleside Avenue.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 27th

SISTER SANDOZ, WHISKEY FAITHFUL, AND ESKIZO AT BACK PORCH LOUNGE (8 p.m.)

This show is for those 21 years old and older and includes performances from three different, dynamic bands, Sister Sandoz, Whiskey Faithful, and Eskizo.

The cover charge is $5 at the door and Back Porch Lounge is located at 2400 Riverside Drive.
