Storytellers Macon presents “Girl Crushes and Bromances” at Grant’s Lounge (6:30-8:30 p.m.)

Storytellers Macon will present an evening dedicated to celebrating admiration and platonic love through storytelling on Tuesday night at Grant's Lounge. This open-mic event will feature heartfelt and humorous tales of friendship, mentorship, and unexpected connections that have shaped lives in profound ways. June O'Neal, who until recently had headed the Mentor's Project in Macon, will be one of the featured storytellers. Screening of “Imitation of Life” at The Douglass Theatre’s Senior Cinema (2 p.m.)

As part of Black History Month, The Douglass Theatre presents a free screening of the classic film Imitation of Life (1959). This film is a melodrama that deals with matter of identity and personal ambition starring Lana Turner and Mahalia Jackson. This screening of Imitation of Life is offered to guests aged 55 and up for free, with subtitles available for accessibility.

HEALTHCARE: People and Pets at the Macon-Bibb County Health Department (10 a.m.)

The Macon-Bibb County Health Department for the People & Pets Project's One Health Clinic will provide health services for people and pets at the same time. Pet owners can access free blood pressure screenings, glucose tests, and optional flu and COVID vaccines, while pets receive rabies shots, microchips, and wellness screenings. All services are free, but pet owners are asked to keep dogs on leashes, put cats in carriers, and limit the number of animals to two per person.

Annual Cookie & Beer Pairing at The Society Garden (2 p.m.)

The Society Garden is hosting its annual Cookie & Beer Pairing event on Saturday afternoon. A local Girl Scout troop will also be on-site for anyone looking to purchase additional addictive cookies to take home.
