Middle Georgia is heading into another week of intense summer heat, with high temperatures in the mid-90s and afternoon thunderstorms developing throughout the week. While most mornings will be sunny and calm, heat and humidity will continue to fuel storm activity later in the day. The following is a day-by-day weather forecast for the week courtesy of the National Weather Service.


MONDAY, July 21st

Skies will be sunny with a high near 96°F. A few storms may pop up in the late afternoon between 3 and 5 p.m., with a 30% chance of precipitation. Heat index values could reach as high as 104°F.
Monday Night: A slight chance of early evening storms before 8 p.m. Otherwise, partly cloudy with a low around 75°F.


TUESDAY, July 22nd

Storm chances rise to 60% in the afternoon as temperatures climb to a sweltering 97°F. Heat index values could top out near 105°F.
Tuesday Night: Thunderstorms are likely before 2 a.m., followed by cloudy skies and a low around 73°F.


WEDNESDAY, July 23rd

The pattern continues with storms likely after 11 a.m. under partly sunny skies. Highs will reach around 91°F.
Wednesday Night: A 60% chance of evening storms, mainly before 8 p.m., followed by partly cloudy conditions and a low near 72°F.



THURSDAY, July 24th

A slight chance of showers is possible in the morning, with more thunderstorms likely after 2 p.m. Highs will reach about 91°F.
Thursday Night: A 30% chance of early evening storms. Low around 72°F with partly cloudy skies.


FRIDAY, July 25th

Expect mostly sunny skies with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. High near 92°F.
Friday Night: A 30% chance of lingering storms and a low near 73°F.


SATURDAY, July 26th

Hot and mostly sunny, with a 30% chance of afternoon storms. High near 95°F.
Saturday Night: Continued storm chances at 30%. Partly cloudy with a low around 74°F.


SUNDAY, July 27th

The weekend closes with another day of high heat and a 30% chance of thunderstorms. High near 96°F.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy with a possible thunderstorm. Low around 76°F. Winds from the west-northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40%.
