FUNDRAISER: More Than Cookies: Summer Special at Fall Line Brewing Co. (6 p.m.)
The Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia’s 4th annual fundraiser will take place at Fall Line Brewing Co. this Thursday night. The fundraiser will include “beer flight tasting, heavy hors d’oeuvres, raffle prizes, and live music,” according to the organizers. YOGA: August Full Moon Yoga and Fundraiser on Coleman Hill (6:30-7:45 p.m.)
Wellness Hug Yoga Studio, along with Wild Heart Yoga and Amber Pierce, will host a unique yoga class on Coleman Hill this Thursday under the light of a full moon. The donation-based class will help raise funds of the aerial yoga installation at Wellness Hug Yoga Studio. This family-friendly event will also include a fire ceremony, chalk art, and an all-levels yoga flow.

MUSIC: Larry Keel and Jon Stickley Duo at The Society Garden (8-10 p.m.)
The Larry Keel and Jon Stickley Duo are talented flatpicking guitarists (think Billy Strings) who will be entertaining guests at The Society Garden on Thursday evening. Both artists have also perfected their own take on bluegrass music, mixing in genres such as roots, jazz, and prog rock. Tickets to see the show cost $20 online on The Society Garden’s website.

FRIDAY, August 8th
YOGA: Chappell Roan Yoga and Sing-along at Tanglewood Art Studios (6-7:30 p.m.)
Tanglewood Art studios will host a Chappell Roan Sing-along class on Friday evening. Yoga teacher Sylvia Snyderman will lead the class in a vinyasa flow as Chappell Roan’s hits inspire practitioners. Tickets to the Chappell Roan Yoga and Sing-along cost $30 online.

FUNDRAISER: Casino Night 2025 by the Central Georgia Board of Realtors at Rigby’s Entertainment Complex Convention Center (7 p.m.)
This fundraising event from Central Georgia Board of Realtors (CGBOR) will take place in the new Rigby's Entertainment Complex Convention Center and benefit CASA of Houston County, Inc. and Pawsome Southern Rescue. Tickets cost $100 which includes admission for 2, 2 drink tickets, food, $500 in casino money per person, a live DJ, prizes, a silent auction, and a cash bar. Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions’ August’s Guided Full Moon Float on the Ocmulgee River (7:30 p.m.)
Experience a glowing nighttime paddle on the Ocmulgee River organized by Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions. Boats are lit with glow sticks, and shuttles and gear are provided. This unique float begins at the Highway 83 bridge and Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions transports participants to the put-in location and provides necessary gear. Catch country artist Will Moseley as he performs heartfelt music at The Society Garden this Saturday. Moseley talents have had him sharing stages with Zac Brown Band and Morgan Wallen. There is limited VIP seating available and general admission tickets are first-come, first-served. The on-site food truck El Amigo will be open to serve food to early arrivers. SCIENCE: Astronomy in the Park at Indian Springs State Park (8:15-10:15 p.m.)
Join the Flint River Astronomy Club atop the scenic dam at Indian Springs State Park for an evening of stargazing with other curious Middle Georgians. A $5 park pass per vehicle is required to enter Indian Springs State Park. In case of rain or inclement weather, Astronomy in the Park will take place Saturday, August 9th.

Ride the Alcovy River on your Personal Watercraft with the Jackson Lake Association (10 a.m.-12 p.m.)
Personal watercraft owners are invited to explore the scenic Alcovy River on this group ride organized by the Jackson Lake Association. Described by participants as a “motorcycle gang on the water,” the event offers a chance to discover a lesser-known tributary of the Ocmulgee while making new connections. The Social Duck is marking National Bowling Day this weekend with drink specials, a full bar and kitchen, and plenty of bowling. Bowling isn’t required to enjoy this unique event, but fans of the sport won’t want to miss the fun. Duck bowling is a bit different than regular bowling: the pins are thinner, the balls are smaller, and there are no holes in the balls either.

The Second Annual Little Miss 478 Pageant at The Douglass Theatre (1 p.m.)
Celebrating “strength, beauty, and brilliance of women from all walks of life”, this year’s Little Miss 478 Pageant theme is “I’m Every Woman.” Contestants will be encouraged to dress as trailblazers or future professionals during the Fun Fashion segment. The pageant is open to girls ages 0–13, and it promotes self-esteem and confidence. Every participant will receive a tiara, with winners and runners-up in each division.
