This week in Middle Georgia, Monkey Joe’s young clientele will celebrate the arrival of fall with exciting indoor play, Coleman Hill will become a temporary yoga studio under the light of a full moon, and music fans can enjoy everything from classical music to country rock. The following are just a few of the unique things to do from October 6th through October 9th in the heart of Georgia.


MONDAY, October 6th

Fall Break Fun at Monkey Joe’s (10/6-10/10) (10 a.m.)

Young Middle Georgians up to 12 years old will be celebrating the arrival of fall from Monday through Friday this week at Monkey Joe’s during Fall Break Fun. There will be hourly crafts and giveaways and staycation cards (which make deal gam cards half price) will also be offered. Find out more about Monkey Joe’s ticket prices at this link.

Ocmulgee Archeological Society’s October Monthly Meeting (6:30 p.m.)

Maritime archaeologist Mike Perrin will give an educational talk titled "Castles in the Sand" about the wreck of a Tokugawa Kaisen Cargo ship off the Izu Peninsula Coast in Japan at the Ocmulgee Archeological Society’s October Monthly Meeting on Monday. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

Full Moon Yoga: 2025 Grand Finale and 8th Anniversary at Coleman Hill Park (6:30 p.m.)

Yoga teacher Amber Pierce of the Wild Heart Yoga and Wellness Hug yoga studios will present the 2025 Grand Finale and 8th Anniversary of Full Moon Yoga on Downtown Macon’s Coleman Hill on Monday evening. These donation-based yoga classes are perfect for beginners and take place under the light of a rising full moon, making the experience even more serene. Donations help keep these yoga classes available for everyone in Middle Georgia and can be made at the event or by Cashapp ($ambersvineyard), PayPal (ambersvineyard@gmail.com), or Venmo (@Amber-Pierce-13).

TUESDAY, October 7th

SPORTS: October 2025 Beginner’s Olympic Sport Fencing Class at the Warner Robins Recreation Dept. (6-7 p.m.)

If you have ever been curious about Olympic sport fencing, this class is for you! These 6 beginner classes are open to everyone 11-years-old and meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The October 2025 Beginner’s Olympic Sport Fencing Class cost $70 and includes the use of Warner Robins Fencing Society’s (WRFS) fencing equipment. MUSIC: Fabian Concert Series in Fickling Hall (7:30 p.m.)

This Tuesday, another concert in the Fabian Concert Series will take place in the inspiring and intimate Fickling Hall. Performers during this concert will include Jasmine Habersham (soprano), Amy Schwartz Moretti (violin), Rebecca Albers (viola), Hal Robinson (double bass), Jeewon Park (piano), as well as the McDuffie Young Artists and the Schubert "Trout" Quintet. Artistic Director Amy Schwartz Moretti curates the Fabian Concert Series, which brings chamber music to Middle Georgia music fans. During the concerts in the Fabian Concert Series, guest artists with international reputations perform with Mercer University’s McDuffie Center for String’s faculty and students. Tickets to this special concert event cost $20 and can be purchased at this link (students get in free with proper IDs).

WEDNESDAY, October 8th

The House That Bagels Built at Macon Bagels (7 a.m.-1 p.m.)

In honor of Habitat Week 2025, Macon Bagels is Habitat Week 2025 by donating 20% of its profits to the Macon Area Habitat for Humanity on Wednesday. Diners can enjoy the delicious offerings of Macon Bagels while helping support the worthy cause of providing homes for families in Macon-Bibb County.

2025 Fall/Winter Children & Women’s Consignment Sale at the Georgia National Guard Armory (10/8-10/11) (10 a.m.-7 p.m.)

Milledgeville Exchange will be hosting a consignment sale from Wednesday through Saturday this week. Shoppers will find children, juniors, and women’s clothing as well as many other items, according to Milledgeville Exchange. This shopping event is free and open to the public and will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

THURSDAY, October 9th

SHOPPING: Lazarus of Macon’s First Anniversary Celebration (10/9-10/11) (9 a.m.-6 p.m.)

Lazarus of Macon will be celebrating its 1st anniversary from Thursday through Saturday this week with complimentary refreshments, storewide discounts (with a few exclusions), and giveaways throughout the day, according to the apparel and clothing retailer. Some of Lazarus of Macon’s favorite brand representatives will be hosting trunk shows, including Mavi (2-6 p.m.), Johnnie-O (2-6 p.m.), and Maui Jim (10 a.m.-2 p.m.), and the representatives will also be raffling off items. Lazarus of Macon’s First Anniversary event is free to attend.

7th Annual A Taste for Justice Fundraiser Event at Luther Williams Field (5:30-8:30 p.m.)

Middle Georgia Justice will host its 7th Annual A Taste For Justice fundraiser at the historic Luther Williams Field. This year, the annual fundraiser for Middle Georgia Justice, which seeks to “reduce to justice gap in Middle Georgia,” will be family-friendly and feature tasty food, cold beverages, fun games, raffle prizes (including a 3 day, 2 night weekend getaway to Brian Adams’ Rabun Gap Mountain House), as well as live music by country music artist and songwriter Megan Fowler. Tickets for the 7th Annual A Taste for Justice Fundraiser Event cost $50, with raffle tickets costing $10 each online at this link.

TRIVIA: Tacos & Trivia Every Thursday at The Society Garden (7 p.m.)

Thursday is for trivia (and tacos!) at The Society Garden. Every Thursday night, patrons of the popular beer garden and live music venue meet for some friendly trivia competition while feasting on tasty tacos from the on-site restaurant, El Amigo Mexican. Tacos & Trivia is free and open to the public.

MUSIC: The Red Clay Strays with Special Guests Wilder Woods at the Atrium Health Amphitheater (7 p.m.)

The Red Clay Strays will be performing country rock music at the Atrium Health Amphitheater on Thursday evening. This band formed in Mobile, Alabama and had its first hit in 2022 with the single “Wondering Why.” Wilder Woods will be opening for The Red Clay Strays. Woods is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and the founding member/lead singer of rock band Needtobreathe. General admission tickets to this concert currently cost $74.85 on ticketmaster.com.

TRIVIA: Spooky Season Trivia: Disney Edition at Roco’s Bar (8:30 p.m.)

Outloud Entertainment presents part two of its Spooky Season Trivia, this time for Disney’s villains. Patrons of Roco’s Bar will compete to prove they know the most about the “dark side of Disney.” Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded for dressing up and winning the trivia game. This event is free and open to the public.
