This week starts out with a solemn reminder of the steep costs of war with several Memorial Day events. There are also events for Braves fans, enterpreneurs, bingo lovers, and much more. The following are just a few of the unique, community-based, and often free things to do this week in the heart of Georgia.
MONDAY, May 25th
Memorial Day
>> Memorial Day Events at Sardis Heard Funerals & Cremation Center in Macon (11 a.m.-2 p.m.) and Magnolia Park Cemeteries and Mausoleums in Warner Robins (11 a.m.)
Honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice during Memorial Day events at Sardis Heard Funerals & Cremation Center and Magnolia Park Cemeteries and Mausoleums on Monday. There will be a guest speaker, live entertainment, and food at the Memorial Day event at Sardis Heard Funerals & Cremation Center.

>> MUSIC: Coheed and Cambria at Macon City Auditorium in Macon (7:30 p.m.)
Progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria will be entertaining patrons at the Macon City Auditorium on Monday night. The band’s albums are uniquely almost all based on a science fiction storyline called “The Armory Wars,” written by the band’s lead singer, Claudio Sanchez. Tickets to see Coheed and Cambria in concert currently start at $38 on ticketmaster.com.

TUESDAY, May 26th
>> The Village at Cone Crazy in Gray (5:30 p.m.)
Parents and caregivers of children with disabilities meet at Gray’s ice cream shop during The Village to “connect, ask questions, share resources,” and join a supportive community. There is no charge to attend this event.

>> FOOD: Braves & Burgers Brewsday at Ocmulgee Brewpub in Macon (6:45-9 p.m.)
Atlanta Braves fans can enjoy cold beverages, burgers, and other tasty meals during Braves & Burgers Brewsday on Tuesday. The Braves will face off against the Red Sox on Tuesday. There is no cover charge for this event.

WEDNESDAY, May 27th
>> 2026 SparkMacon presents Entrepreneur’s Night at Switch Macon (6-7:30 p.m.)
SparkMacon’s Entrepreneur’s Nights are held in collaboration with small businesses around Macon-Bibb County, meant to “showcase both new and established businesses.” This is a networking event for local entrepreneurs as well as small business owners. There is no charge for this event.

>> Bingo at Ocmulgee Brewpub in Macon (6:30-8 p.m.)
Play bingo at Downtown Macon’s Ocmulgee Brewpub this Wednesday. Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each round, and there will be a chance to try your luck at spinning a prize wheel. There is no cover charge for this event.

>> Plant Bingo at The Society Garden in Macon (5:30 p.m.)
Wednesday seems to be a good night for bingo, with Cam’s Plants at Ingleside Village hosting a first round of Plant Bingo at The Society Garden on that night as well. The prizes for this unique event are luscious plants, and all participants will also receive a free plant. Unfortunately, the first round of Plant Bingo has already sold out, but Cam’s Plants will host another round on Wednesday, June 24th, which costs $35 plus taxes, online at this link.

>> Neel’s Lofts Ribbon Cutting in Macon (11 a.m.)
Neel’s Lofts will be hosting a ribbon-cutting along with the Macon-Bibb Chamber of Commerce and NewTown Macon on Thursday morning. Guests will be able to tour the new building, enjoy refreshments, and even get some Neel’s Lofts swag. Neel’s Lofts offers high-end loft apartments with modern amenities, according to its website. There is no charge to attend this event.

>> National Hockey League Trivia at Jarocho’s Mexican Bar & Grill in Gray (7 p.m.)
NHL fans can take part in some friendly trivia competition at Jarocho’s Mexican Bar & Grill in Gray on Thursday evening. Tough Toro Entertainment will host this trivia event. There is no charge to attend this trivia event.

>> Marked! Screening and Discussion with Georgia Writers Museum in Eatonton (6 p.m.)
Georgia Public Broadcasting will host Marked! on Thursday at the Georgia Writers Museum in Eatonton. Attendees will view a screening of GPB’s new series “Marked!” Afterward, local experts, including scholar Beverly Guy-Sheftall, will speak about the special ways women shaped “Revolutionary and local American history.” The Georgia Writers Museum celebrates 9 famed authors who began their careers as writers in Eatonton, including Pulitzer Prize winner Alice Walker and author Joel Chandler Harris. There is no charge to attend this event, though reservations are recommended.
