The Grand Opera House promises a radically inclusive cultural celebration of art for the whole family in October.

Macon Art eXplosion (MAX) is coming to The Grand this October. This event will take place over the two days, October 23rd and 24th. The Grand promises interactive activities for the families, crafts, exhibitions, and more.

The Grand says they drew inspiration from art and Fringe festivals that have taken place in other cities. This event was created "by artists, for artists". Artists can submit their art work to the festival and practicing artists will jury them.

Artists can submit multiple pieces of artwork to MAX. They are seeking to bring in a wide range of artists and performers, as well as progressive artists with risky ideas.

MAX will have Maker Merchant Spaces where artists can display their works and have interactive art. There will also be Stage Shout-out Spots where performers, artists, and teachers can be onstage for up to 20 minutes showing their skills. Finally, The Grand says they will have Guerrilla Grand Spaces, 6 separate places where visitors will see art and performances that are "meant to be edgy".

Applications are open until September 15th and The Grand asks that you email Julia Rubens with any questions at rubens_ja@mercer.edu.
