Music fans in Middle Georgia have plenty of options this week, with beloved local acts performing for neighbors and visitors and acts from further afield filling up venues like Macon's The Society Garden. First Friday in cities like Dublin and Macon mean a chance to celebrate the arrival of a new month, often with special events and lots of live music. Music fan Jim Webb has once again been hard at work compiling the following mostly comprehensive list of live music shows taking place in the heart of Georgia this week.
MONDAY, August 31st
Macon
— Music Therapy hosted by Jody Hightower: Hummingbird > 9 p.m.-12 a.m.
TUESDAY, September 1st
Macon
— Bob and Blender's Acoustic Campfire Jams: Vice Bar > 8-11 p.m.
MACON MUSIC HIGHLIGHT: Bob Jones of Grassfed (aka halfgrass), Bob and Blender (who is his loyal furry friend), Bob and Bert (who will perform at Fresh Produce this Friday), et al. can often be found performing at venues around Macon. While Blender doesn't always make an appearance during Bob and Blender's performances, Bob's skilled guitar playing and soothing voice helps audience members lose themselves in the music no matter which band he is performing with. Jones will be releasing his debut album "Last Cigarette" in May 2027.
