This weekend is packed full of unique events for the adventurous, including GABBAfest 2026, a weekend of events that pay tribute to the Allman Brothers Band, stand-up comedy, community events from Macon Pride, live music, and much more. Several events this weekend will help raise money for worthy causes, while some are meant for pure entertainment. The following are just a few of the fun, interesting, and often free things to do this weekend in the heart of Georgia.
FRIDAY, September 25th
>> GABBAfest 2026 (9/25-9/27) p.m.)
GABBAFest 2026 pays tribute to the Allman Brothers Band this week, with live shows and events at multiple venues like Grant’s Lounge and the Big House Museum. Friday’s GABBAfest events include an in-store performance at Fresh Produce Records by the Good Trees River Band at 5 p.m. Les Dudek, with support from Bonnie Blue, then performs at The Grand Opera House at 7 p.m. Finally, at 10:30 p.m. or right after the Dudek show ends, the Late Nite Show with Cash Juke’s Joint kicks off at iconic Grant’s Lounge. >> THEATRE: "Silent Sky” at Mercer’s Tattnall Square Center for the Arts in Macon (9/25-9/27) (7:30 p.m)
Mercer University Theatre will present a production about 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt written by Lauren Gunderson, directed by Scot Mann, and with original music from Jenny Giering from Thursday through Sunday this week. Leavitt made discoveries that helped astronomers measure vast distances to other galaxies. After the show, attendees are invited to look at the stars and planets through telescopes. The Sunday matinee show will take place at 2:30 p.m., with all other shows at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets to see Silent Sky cost $15, and student tickets cost $10, online at this link.

Off The Rails Comedy Showcase includes sets by Caroline Exum of Macon, Jacob Chalk of Atlanta, and Alison Page of Atlanta. stARTup Studios serves a variety of craft beer and other beverages, while also offering classes, workshops, and special events like the unique dining experience Hot Glass Supper. Tickets to Off the Rails Comedy Showcase cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

>> MUSIC: Travis Tritt at the Macon City Auditorium in Macon (7:30 p.m.)
Country star Travis Tritt, who had hits like “Help Me Hold On”, “Anymore”, and “Foolish Pride”, will perform at the Macon City Auditorium on Friday night. Tritt was born in Marietta, and he learned to sing in church. Tickets to see Travis Tritt currently start at $82.60 on Ticketmaster.com.

>> MUSIC: Sans & The Clockmakers at The Hummingbird in Macon (9:30 p.m.)
Sans & The Clockmakers’ sound is described as a unique mix of outlaw country with psychedelia, according to The Hummingbird. Tickets to see Sans & The Clockmakers live will cost $5 at the door.

>> MUSIC: GABBAfest 2026 - Cash’s Juke Joint at Grant’s Lounge in Macon (10:30 p.m.)
The multi-talented Angel Ocasio Jr. and the rest of Cash’s Juke Joint will perform at Grant’s Lounge on Friday night as part of GABBAfest, along with guest artist Roger “Hurricane” Wilson. Tickets to this show cost $10 at the door or online.

SATURDAY, September 26th
>> RUNNING: Into the Woods Trail Run at Girl Scout Camp Martha Johnston in Lizella (8:30 a.m.)
The Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia (GSHG) present the Into the Woods Trail Run this Saturday morning at Lizella’s Girl Scout Camp Matha Johnston. The historic camp has been open since 1925, and runners will traverse “hills, dirt, sand, mud, gravel, roots, and bridges” during the run and enjoy s’mores at the fireside, according to GSHG. The Into the Woods Trail Run is hosted by CMJ's Adopt A Camp team, which is made up of volunteer moms, dads, grandparents, responsible older scouts, and former campers, and proceeds benefit the upkeep of the camp. The last early package pickup is Friday, September 25th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Macon. Registration for the Into the Woods Trail Run currently costs $35 online at this link.

>> FUNDRAISER: Annual Jay’s Hope Fundraiser and Market at Skipper Family Farms in Macon (9 a.m.-4 p.m.)
Skipper Family Farms will present its annual Jay’s Hope Fundraiser and Market this Saturday. The Jay’s Hope Foundation is a charity that seeks to improve the quality of life of children with cancer and their families through a variety of means. This event will include arts and crafts vendors, food trucks and concessions, pumpkins, a cut flower maze, antique cars and tractors, and more. Admission is free to this family-friendly event.

>> NAAF Walk for Alopecia at Walk At Sandy Run in Warner Robins (10 a.m.-1 p.m.)
The National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) Walk for Alopecia at The Walk at Sandy Run will help raise awareness and support for those affected by alopecia on Saturday. Hair loss or alopecia can affect anyone, including young people like Parker, who was diagnosed at the age of 1, according to Parker’s Alopecia Posse. >> Play Streets Macon: Napier Avenue in Macon (11 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Bike Walk Macon’s Play Street Macon on Saturday will make a temporary park on Napier Avenue, from Duncan Avenue to Hendley Street. Attendees can enjoy lawn games and activities, help create a traffic-calming installation, and much more. This family-friendly community event is free and open to the public.

Macon Pride’s annual Pride in the Park will take place this year in Cherry Street Plaza, right in front of stately Terminal Station. Low sensory hours will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Tubman Museum’s The Still Point sanctuary. This community event includes a kids zone, live music, food trucks, community art, drag performances, and live entertainment from Christ Pierce. Pride in the Park is free and open to the public.

>> Practical Magic: Omens and Om at Switch Macon in Macon (4-6 p.m)
With Halloween around the corner, and “Practical Magic 2” in theaters soon, Wellness Hug will be celebrating its one-year anniversary and the arrival of “spooky season,” according to organizers. 10% of proceeds from the evening will benefit Wellness Hug.

>> Macon Pride After-Party at the Tubman Museum in Macon (8:30 p.m.)
The Macon Pride After-Party features “curated drinks, immersive art, electric drag, and live entertainment headlined by Quitman Alexander.” This event is for those 18 and older and will include dancing and music. Entry to the Macon Pride After-Party is $10 at the door.

SUNDAY, September 27th
>> Pumpkin Patch Opens at Skipper Family Farms in Macon (10 a.m.)
Visitors to Macon’s Skipper Family Farms can walk through hundreds of pumpkins in different colors and sizes on Sunday. Skipper Family Farms is family-owned and offers Christmas trees, pumpkin patches, U-pick flowers, and seasonal events, according to the farm’s website.

>> Turtle Talk! at Indian Springs State Park in Flovilla (1 p.m.)
The Indian Springs State Park’s naturalist will teach visitors all about native turtle species. Attendees will also be able to participate in a small craft project, according to the historic park. Turtle Talk! is free but there is a parking fee to park at Indian Springs State Park.

Businesses on Downtown Macon’s 1st Street will present family-friendly activities, themed brunches, happy hour specials and more this Sunday. The 567 Center for Renewal will offer sidewalk chalk drawing from 2 to 4 p.m., Hotel Forty Five offers a happy hour from 2 to 4 p.m., Switch Macon Bar is presenting a Pride weekend brunch, and Just Tap’d Macon is offering specials for the block party’s attendees. After the 1st Street Block Party, attendees are invited to Coleman Hill to take part in Macon Pride’s Interfaith Service and Family Picnic from 4 to 6 p.m. The 1st Street Block Party is free to attend.
