Warming stations at Georgia State Parks this freezing weekend (12/23 - 12/25)

Low temperatures on Friday are forecast to be around 18 degrees and the wind chill temperatures will be even more frigid. Because of the possible danger from this unusually cold weather, some Georgia State Parks are opening warning stations for the public this weekend.

Unfortunately for many of those who might need these warming stations, there are none located directly in Middle Georgia. The closest park would be north of our area at F.D. Roosevelt State Park in Pine Mountain.

While the warming stations are open ParkPass fees will be waived for those using them.
