Macon Mayhem Hockey 2023 - 2024 Season Begins on October 20th

The Macon Mayhem team will pick up their hockey sticks and put on their bucket (a creative term for helmets) for another season of high energy hockey on October 20th with an opening game against the Knoxville Ice Bears in Macon.

This year there will be plenty of chances for Middle Georgia hockey fans to enjoy one of the Mayhem's games: there are 28 games scheduled to take place at their home rink, the Macon Coliseum.

In recent months, the team has announced which players would be returning for the next season as well as which players will not be returning. Returning players include Aaron Aragon, Jake Goldowski, Sacha Roy, Jamie Dorsey, Adam Eby, Reid Yochim, Rhett Kingston, Tim Faulkner, CJ Hayes, Branden Makara, Tommy Municheillo, and Kup.

The Macon Mayhem also recently announced that they have a new majority owner, Scott Gooch, whose careers have included the film industry and international banking.

The Macon Mayhem is in the SPHL, which is a "professional ice hockey independent minor league" whose teams are mostly located in the southeast, according to Wikipedia. The team was previously named the Augusta RiverHawks but, after the failure of the expensive ice system in Augusta, they moved to Macon in June of 2014 and played their first game as the Macon Mayhem during the 2015 - 2016 SPHL season.

Middle Georgia hockey fans, and those just curious to see what an exciting hockey game is like, can buy reasonably priced tickets from the Macon Mayhem website once they go on sale at some point in September.
