PRESS RELEASE: Sparklight Hosts Cybersecurity Workshop in Perry to Boost Community Online Safety
PERRY, Ga. (Aug. 7, 2025) – As cyberthreats grow more sophisticated and increasingly target everyday users, Sparklight® is helping protect the community with a free cybersecurity workshop Saturday, August 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Perry Leisure Services in the James E. Worrall Center, 1060 Keith Drive in Perry.
The interactive session is aimed at equipping residents with the knowledge and tools to stay safe online. It will address real-world threats such as phishing, technical support scams and online fraud. Attendees will learn how to identify warning signs, create strong passwords and safely navigate websites and emails, taking home actionable strategies to protect themselves at home and at work.
In addition to learning cybersecurity best practices, customers will be introduced to tools available through Sparklight – including Sparklight’s intelligent Wi-Fi solution, powered by eero. The solution provides encrypted connections, blocks phishing and pop-ups, includes parental controls and features a secure VPN. Extra protection is available through eero Secure and eero Plus.
