Local leaders and community partners gain insight into county industries and economic development efforts

MACON, Ga
- The Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority (MBCIA) hosted its Community Partner Bus Tour on Thursday. The annual tour highlights the local and global impact of Macon-Bibb’s industrial sector through a guided visit to multiple industrial parks, showcasing the companies that drive regional growth and contribute to international markets.

MBCIA Executive Director Stephen Adams leads the Community Partner Bus Tour each year, inviting local community partners to listen, learn, and witness firsthand how industries in Macon-Bibb County fuel economic vitality at home and abroad.

“These tours give us the opportunity to introduce our community partners to local industries,” Adams said. “They allow us to make connections when requests arise and share the rich history of industry in Macon-Bibb.”

State Rep. Anissa Jones, D-143; Somer Stafford, District Representative for U.S. Representative Sanford Bishop Jr., Donice Bryant, Macon-Bibb County Commissioner, District 8; Stanley Stewart, Macon-Bibb County Commissioner District 3; James Fritze, President and CEO of NewTown Macon; Keristen Layrock, representing the Middle Georgia Regional Commission; and Alex Mason, Jen Marshall and Reid McLain from the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce all participated in the tour and shared positive remarks about their experience.

“It was great to see firsthand the industries that keep Macon-Bibb moving forward,” Jones said. “These companies play such an important role in creating jobs and opportunities for our community.”
