PRESS RELEASE: NewTown Macon is Rewarding Maconites for Shopping Downtown this July
Participants can earn up to $50 back just for snapping photos of their receipts at downtown businesses.
MACON, GA – NewTown Macon announces the launch of Summer Snaps, a new community rewards program running July 1 through July 31, 2026, designed to drive foot traffic to downtown Macon businesses and put money back in the pockets of Maconites who shop local.
Summer Snaps rewards participants with a gift card worth 20% of their combined purchases before tip, up to $50, to the downtown business of their choice. To participate, residents text "SNAP" to 478-425-3479 to opt in, then submit five valid receipts from at least two different downtown businesses by texting photos to the same number. NewTown Macon will follow up with qualified participants to claim their gift card, which will be mailed directly to them.
Eligible purchases span the full range of what downtown has to offer, such as restaurants, retail shops, hair salons, bars, auto services, and more. Third-party delivery purchases are not eligible. The program is funded with a total of $2,000, and gift cards will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted. All receipts must be submitted by July 31, 2026, and gift cards will be issued by September 1, 2026.
