PRESS RELEASE: Macon Magazine and NewTown Macon Announce Second Annual Macon Restaurant Weeks

"Fall into Flavor" from September 11–20 in Downtown Macon

MACON, GA – After a standout debut last fall, Macon Magazine and NewTown Macon are bringing back Macon Restaurant Week for a second year, set for September 11–20. This year's event expands to twenty downtown restaurants, each offering diners a choice between a budget-friendly Special or a chef's Signature dish.

Participating restaurants include Andalusia, Bearfoot Tavern, Braddock’s Cask & Table, Cashman’s Pub, Dovetail, Downtown Grill, Flight Time at Bearfoot, Grant’s Lounge, H&H Soul Food, Hotel Forty Five’s Loom, House Cocktails, J. Reid’s Tavern, Macon Water Ice, Ocmulgee Brewpub, Rookery, Satterfield’s Barbecue, Shuster’s Candy & Creamery, The Social Duck, Sweet Eleanor’s, and Your Pie.

“This year’s event gives our restaurants two ways to bring people through the door,” said Haley Purvis, Director of Marketing at NewTown Macon. “Special dishes serve as a low-pressure way to try somewhere new, and Signature dishes are our chefs' chance to really show off and turn a first-time visitor into a new regular.”

“Every Downtown Macon restaurant has a story waiting to be tasted: a family recipe, a chef taking a risk, a space that has been repurposed,” said Susannah Maddux, Publisher and Editor of Macon Magazine. “Restaurant Week is a meaningful way to guide diners to those stories one plate at a time.”

Macon Restaurant Week passports will be available at all participating downtown Macon businesses, rewarding completed visits with Macon Magazine subscriptions and merchandise, plus a chance to win a $250 gift card to the downtown Macon business of the winner's choice.
