The 20th Annual Macon Movie Festival will kick off on Wednesday, August 20th, with a free community screening of "Crip Camp," a movie about playground accessibility, at The Douglass Theatre.
The Macon Film Festival is a five-day-long festival that celebrates independent filmmaking with interesting documentaries, exciting short films, and fully immersive fulldome films which are projected on the planetarium at the Museum of Arts and Science.
This year "Newt: A Short Documentary" and "The Pastor's Daughter" will be screened. Both of these movies will be very meaningful for many Macon and Middle Georgia residents because they tell the stories of music icon Newton Collier (Sam & Dave, etc.) as well as filmmaker/actress Moira Glennon.
Visit the Macon Film Festival's website to view the most accurate, up-to-date schedule of the movies that will be screened this year.
