More than 1,000,000 festive lights will illuminate Macon's historic Downtown every night from 6 to 10 p.m. starting Friday, November 28th, 2025, through Sunday, January 4, 2026, as part of the 2025 Macon Christmas Light Extravaganza, presented by Northway Church.
The event starts off with a free concert from the Macon Pops on Friday, November 28th, 2025, that takes place at the intersection of First and Poplar Streets. Make sure to arrive early and bring something comfortable to sit on (as well as something to keep you warm, depending on the weather).
The opening concert is a very popular event, so expect to have some difficulty finding parking and moving through crowds of other Middle Georgians.
After the concert, visitors will be entertained by 45-minute shows where colorful lights along Poplar Street and Third Street are synchronized to the same holiday songs the Macon Pops performed during the opening concert on November 28th.
Make sure to visit one of the 80+ restaurants and retail stores located in Macon's walkable downtown area while visiting to see the light.
There are also events scheduled almost every day of the year, whether you are looking for art shows, theatrical productions, live music, or special community events, so you can easily schedule your visit to see the Macon Lights Extravaganza on a night when you can find something else fun to do in town.
