The Macon Witches Float returns to Macon's Amerson Park on Sunday, October 5th. This year's event is sponsored by Visit Macon and presented by Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions.
During this unique event, attendees are encouraged to dress up in their best witchy costumes and float down the Ocmulgee River on a non-motorized float, paddleboard, kayak, or boat, while supporting a worthy cause.
This event is a Halloween-themed fundraising event that helps raise funds to combat "period poverty in Macon-Bibb County." Period poverty is a term that describes the "lack of access to proper menstrual products and education" regarding their effective use.
One participant will be selected as the Best Dressed and win a $100 gift card presented by Visit Macon
Check-in and shuttles to launch from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Porter Pavilion. A shuttle will take you to the launch point and then back to your vehicle after the float ends at the south end of Amerson River Park.
If you bring a feminine product donation for Macon Periods Easier, you will also have a chance to win prizes, including a free paddle excursion from Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions.
