Longleaf Distilling Co. hosts a celebration of Jane Austen's 250th birthday, inviting "Janeites" for an evening of literary appreciation on Thursday, December 16th, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Austen was an English novelist whose novels explored women's dependence on marriage at the time for "social standing and economic security." Pride and Prejudice (1813) and Sense and Sensibility (1811) are two of her most popular novels.

The celebration features a tea and dessert pairing flight, games, activities with prizes throughout the evening, and a craft hosted by MD Exchange. 

According to the organizers, whether attendees admire Darcy or connect with Emma, the night will celebrate all the beloved characters from Austen's novels, with a cash bar available.
