Live Entertainment Spotlight in Middle Georgia this Week

From singing your heart out, to doing a swampy art project, to listening to high-energy live music, there are lots of ways to stay entertained during the next few days. The following are just a few of the interesting events taking place at the end of this week.


THURSDAY, July 18th

KARAOKE AT JBA WITH FRESH PRODUCE RECORDS (9 p.m.-1:30 a.m.)

Wille D from Fresh Produce Records will be hosting another night of karaoke this Friday at Downtown Macon’s JBA. This is a free event.


FRIDAY, July 19th

SHREK’S SWAMPY SUMMER ART NIGHT AT ARTSPACE MACON (6:30-8:30 p.m.)

Fans of the green guy from the swamp and making art will enjoy this unique event from Artspace Macon. This all ages art workshop will lead participants in a Shrek-inspired collage. Prices start at $25 for an 8x10 or 8x8 canvas and kids under 12 are welcome to join the class when registered with their parent.

LIVE MUSIC WITH REGGIE TROMBONE LOVE AT GRACIE’S IN WARNER ROBINS (8-11 p.m.)

The talented trombone player Reggie Trombone will be playing on the rooftop at Gracie’s: A Rooftop Bar in Warner Robins.

HEADSTRINGS DUO AT VICE BAR (8-11 p.m.)

Scott Baston of Headstrings and Moonshine Still and Kat Bugatti of Shy Company will be performing a free show at Downtown Macon's Vice Bar this Friday. The musicians recently recorded at Atlanta's Tree Sound Studios and there may be some special guests performing along with them.

ALANA SPRINGSTEEN WITH MEGAN FOLWER AT THE HUMMINGBIRD (10 p.m.-2 a.m.)

This show will be part of Josh Terry’s Honky Tonk series and features Alana Springsteen, an Opry singer who was in Country Music Television’s Class of 2023. Tickets cost $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

JBA PRESENTS FEEL GOOD FRIDAYS (10 p.m.)

Feel Good Fridays takes place every Friday at Downtown Macon’s JBA, which has danceable music, cold drinks, and a large game room for some friendly competition. DJ B3 and special guests will provide the music. The cover charge for Feel Good Fridays is $5 for those 21 and older and $10 for those 18 to 20.

CREWS & CO. AT BILLY’S CLUBHOUSE (10 p.m.-1:30 a.m.)

Crews & Co. is a rock and roll band that can often be found performing around Middle Georgia as well as up in Athens. The band started from a “kitchen jam session”, according to the band’s website. Billy’s Clubhouse does not have a cover charge.



SATURDAY, July 20th

XANFEST V AT THE BACK PORCH LOUNGE (4 p.m.)

This yearly concert event will honor Xander Carlisle and feature live music from Gas Up Huncho, Reco Usagi, Que Namikaze, Luap Milly, Sister Sandoz, Tinwolf, and Imposter. Donations raised during Xanfest V will go towards helping repair Xander’s dog’s memorial at his gravesite. This show is for a 21 and older audience.

GIRLY SWIRLY POP PARTY WITH DJ STORM AT GRACIE’S (7:30 p.m.)

DJ Storm will play music from artists like Charli XCX, Chapell Roan, Remi Wolf, and more. Tickets to this show cost $10 online.

THE WALL AT PUB 96 IN BONAIRE (9 p.m.)

The Wall, a band based in Middle Georgia, will be playing at Bonaire’s Pub 96.

KALEIGH COURSON AT MY BAR IN PERRY (9 p.m.)

The Nashville recording artist Kaleigh Courson, who is also from Macon, will be performing with her band at My Bar in Perry this Saturday.

HEAT RAVE: A DRAG SHOW AT JBA (9 p.m.-12 a.m.)

The Tribe Macon, Yutoya Avazé Leòn, and Christina Leòn will be performing a show at JBA early into the morning this Saturday night.

CAM VANCE AT MY BAR IN PERRY (9 p.m.)

Cam Vance is a country music singer and songwriter from Perry. He will be playing on his home turf Saturday evening at My Bar in Perry. There is no cover charge for this concert.

SPACE ARMADILLO AT GRANT’S LOUNGE (9 p.m.)

Dude of Life (Phish lyricist) and Andy Greenberg (Runaway Gin’s) will be playing funky rock music at Grant’s Lounge this Saturday. Tickets cost $15 at the door or online.

AJEVA AT THE HUMMINGBIRD (10 p.m.-2 a.m.)

Funk rock band Ajeva, from St. Petersburg, Florida, will be playing at The Hummingbird this Saturday. The band is made up of Reed Skahill on vocals, Taylor Gilchrist on bass, Tucker Sody on drums, Lyndon Thacker on guitar/keyboards, and Michael Nivens on guitar. The Hummingbird will charge a $5 cover at the door for this show.

2 FINGER JESTER AT BILLY’S CLUBHOUSE (10 p.m.-2 a.m.)

The 80’s hair metal and rock band 2 Finger Jester will be performing at Billy’s Clubhouse late Saturday. This band is on their “Final Year” tour and has only three shows left at Billy’s Clubhouse.

HEAVY METAL NIGHT AT BUFFINGTON'S (10:30 p.m.-2 a.m.)

The restaurant Buffington’s will host Downtown Destruction with heavy metal music from two bands late Saturday night. There is no cover for this show.

SUNDAY, July 21st

REGGAE SUNDAYS WITH DEAN BROWN & DUBSHAK AT THE SOCIETY GARDEN (4-7 p.m.)

Dean Brown & Dubshak perform their original, easy-listening music at The Society Garden every Sunday at noon. Jamaican-inspired food, bottomless mimosas, mocktails, and more are served during Reggae Sundays. The event is free and open to the public every Sunday at The Society Garden.
