As summer nears, Middle Georgia is heading into a warm and mostly dry week, with only a few chances for midweek showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will climb into the low 90s early in the week before cooling slightly by the weekend. Foggy mornings, sunny afternoons, and mild nights will dominate the forecast, offering favorable conditions for outdoor plans - especially toward the end of the week.
MONDAY, May 20th
Expect areas of fog early in the morning between 7 and 8 a.m. The rest of the day will be mostly sunny with a high near 92°F. Heat index values could reach up to 98°F, so take precautions if spending time outdoors. Winds will remain calm in the morning, picking up slightly from the southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy skies will bring a mild evening, with a low around 69°F and calm winds.
TUESDAY, May 21st
The heat continues with mostly sunny skies and a high near 93°F. A light southwest wind will increase to 5 to 10 mph by afternoon, with gusts as high as 15 mph possible.
