February is starting off cold, but there are plenty of unique events to warm up with this week. During the first half of this week, the adventurous can seek some eye relief from the computer/phone screens in their lives at Sweet Eleanor's ANALOG, or attend an art exhibit featuring the art of the talented Mary-Frances Burt, or attend a Macon Mayhem hockey game. The following are just a few of the family-friendly, interesting, and often free things to do this week in the heart of Georgia.
MONDAY, February 2nd

Trivia with Brenda takes place every Monday night at Chick-fil-A in Forsyth. This family-friendly trivia event includes prizes.

TUESDAY, February 3rd
>> ANALOG: A Device-Free Event at Sweet Eleanor’s (5-7 p.m.)
ANALOG Tuesdays is a unique event from Sweet Eleanor’s that invites you to remove whatever screen your face is usually stuck to for a few hours of fun with others. The theme for Tuesday’s ANALOG is Game Night Kickoff. Patrons are invited to bring their favorite board and card games or borrow Sweet Eleanor’s. There are plenty of sweet treats and tasty drinks to enjoy while you take a break from your screens.

>> Cupid’s Glow-Up at Switch Macon (6 p.m.)
Allure Aesthetics of Gray and Macon SparX & Jewelry Bar present Cupid’s Glow-Up this Tuesday at Switch Macon. Attendees will enjoy a glass of complimentary champagne and access to Switch Macon’s full drink menu while browsing Allure Aesthetics’ discounted aesthetic services and products, permanent jewelry by Macon Sparx, and romantic apparel and adult novelties from Sweet Henni’s.

WEDNESDAY, February 4th
>> Ribbon Cutting: Sugar Creek Apartments (11 a.m.)
The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce invites the public to celebrate the opening of Sugar Creek Apartments with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Sugar Creek Apartments is a senior and family community that has 80 units ranging from 881 to 1,341 square feet with LED lighting, outdoor patios, and an energy star rated appliance package.

>> ART: Mary-Frances Burt’s “Poured Out” Exhibit at Macon Arts Alliance (4 p.m.)
Macon Arts Alliance will present the opening of its February exhibit, “Poured Out,” on Tuesday. This exhibit features the artwork of multimedia artist Mary-Frances Burt, who has created more than 1,000 book covers as well as a variety of other drawings and paintings during her career. The artwork in “Poured Out” is inspired by Burt’s meditation, physical movement, and painting while using recycled material. She will give an artist talk during this family-friendly event.

>> HOCKEY: Macon Mayhem vs. Pensacola Ice Flyers for Thirsty Thursday at the Macon Coliseum (7 p.m.)
Enjoy an evening of professional hockey while taking advantage of drink specials during Thirsty Thursday as the Macon Mayhem and the Ice Flyers face off on the ice this Thursday evening. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the puck drops at 7 p.m.

>> MUSIC: Seraph Brass in McCorkle Music Building’s Fickling Hall (7:30 p.m.)
Mercer University’s Townsend School of Music will present Seraph Brass, a part of the school’s Jubilee Artists Series. Seraph Brass is a showcase of the talents of women brass players and players from marginalized groups. This is the 11th season of Seraph Brass, which was founded by trumpet soloist Mary Elizabeth Bowden.

Friday, 5-11:45 p.m. - First Friday in Downtown Macon - Restaurant/retail specials, live music at various businesses (Bear’s Books, The Bohemian Den, Rabbit Hole, Pink Poodle Parade at the 567 (5-8 p.m.), McEachern will open Brittany Coburn’s Guilty Pleasures (6-8 p.m.), Gallery West will celebrate its 11th anniversary (5-9 p.m.), and a rare chance to see the inside of the historic Bibb Theatre (5-7 p.m.)
Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. - Middle GA Lit Fest - Meet authors, shop vendors, and relive your school book fair memories at this free event at the North Houston Sports Complex in Warner Robins. - 6:30 p.m. - Love Is All You Need: Macon Pops Annual Fundraiser at Fall Line Station - 60’s-inspired fundraising concert.
Sunday, 1 p.m. - Fall Line’s Valentine’s Market - Make a bouquet, a Valentine card, and much more, as well as shop vendors selling vintage clothing, baked goods, and more.
