The adventurous can challenge themselves with trivia competitions, play bingo to win plants, and much more in Middle Georgia this week. Of particular note, the documentary Newt, about Macon's Newton Collier, will be screened at the historic Douglass Theatre, where attendees will also celebrate the living legend's birthday. The following are just a few of the engaging, educational (and often free) things to do this week in the heart of Georgia.

MONDAY, July 20th

>> TRIVIA: Trivia Days Popular Opinion at Medina’s Mexican Grill in Warner Robins (7-8 p.m.)

Trivia Days hosts Popular Opinion trivia at Medina’s Mexican Grill every Monday. This family-friendly event includes a weekly raffle. There is no charge to attend Popular Opinion.

>> YOGA: Yoga Therapy at Wellness Hug in Macon (5:15-6:15 p.m.)

Wellness Hug is hosting a Yoga Therapy Series that helps “you understand your body from the ground up.” The 3-month beginner-friendly series features small groups and workbooks for participants. TUESDAY, July 21st

>> BINGO: Prosemino Plant Bingo at The Patio at Rigby’s in Warner Robins (6-8:30 p.m.)

Prosemino Plant Co. is hosting an evening of Plant Bingo at The Patio at Rigby’s on Tuesday night. This unique trivia event will include more than 8 rounds of bingo, and every participant will leave with a new plant, with rare and high-end plant prizes for the winners, according to Prosemino Plant Co, which specializes in tropical plants. >> MOVIES: Seeds presented by Macon Film Guild at Douglass Theatre in Macon (7:30-9:30 p.m.)

This Tuesday, the documentary Seeds will be screened at Downtown Macon's Douglass Theatre. Seeds tells the stories of several Black generational farmers’ “lives, joys, and struggles as well as the fragility of legacy and owning land,” according to the Macon Film Guild. The Macon Film Guild presents independent and foreign films at the Douglass Theatre every month. Admission to see Seeds is $5 with a free Fall Line Brewing Co. happy hour at 6 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, July 22nd

>> 2026 SparkMacon’s Entrepreneur’s Night at Grid Chiropractic in Macon (6-7:30 p.m.)

SparkMacon brings its monthly collaborative Entrepreneur’s Night to Downtown Macon’s Grid Chiropractic on Wednesday evening. This networking event helps put a spotlight on new and established businesses in Macon, like Grid Chiropractic, led by chiropractor Dr. Ken Bartlett. There is no charge to attend this event from SparkMacon.

>> MUSIC: fallfiftyfeet with Royal Hearts, American Theory, and Black Hills at Reverb Room in Warner Robins (8 p.m.)

Metalcore and Deathcore music fans will meet at Reverb Room on Wednesday for an all-ages concert with fallfiftyfeet performing along with Royal Hearts, American Theory, and Black Hills. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the music begins at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $12 in advance or $15 at the door.

THURSDAY, July 23rd

>> MOVIES: NEWT: A Short Documentary and Newton Collier’s Birthday Celebration at Douglass Theatre (6 p.m.)

Newton Collier, trumpet player for Sam and Dave of “Soul Man” fame, has many fans in Middle Georgia and from around the world. The documentary that tells his fascinating life story, Newt, will be screened at the historic Douglass Theatre on Thursday. A celebration of Collier’s birthday will also take place at the same time. Tickets to see Newt and celebrate the legend himself cost $10 online on rebelity.com.

Newton Collier is a friend of many in Middle Georgia, and he has lived a fascinating life.

>> TRIVIA: 90’s Trivia with Jason Volume 2 at Switch Macon (7 p.m.)

Trivia fans and 90s kids will compete at Switch Macon on Thursday during 90’s Trivia with Jason Volume 2. The last time this event was scheduled, tickets sold out very quickly, according to Switch Macon. Reservation for 90’s Trivia can be made online at this link.

>> FRIDAY, July 24th: Houston County Family Connection’s 17th Annual Back to School Bash 2026 in Warner Robins (9 a.m.): Houston County Family Connection will host the 17th Annual Back to School Bash 2026 this Friday at three locations: CB Watson Primary for in-person attendees from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Perry High School and Thomson Middle School for drive-thru attendees from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (Multiple locations in Warner Robins)

>> FRIDAY, July 24th: Ashes ($10 Beer + A Local Show) at The Robins Financial Capitol Theatre in Macon (8 p.m.): The Robins Financial Capitol Theatre and Macon Magazine introduce another concert in the $10 beer + a local show concert series next Friday, with a performance from Middle Georgia’s Ashes. Ashes formed in Macon and they play psychedelic rock and roll. This concert series is meant to be an answer to the truly outrageous prices for many concert tickets these days. The $10 ticket price also includes 1 beer (for concertgoers 21 and older). (382 Second Street, Macon)

>> SATURDAY, July 25th: Bragg Fam and Bragg Jam Concert Crawl in Macon: The Bragg Jam Concert Crawl, preceded by the annual family-friendly Bragg Fam at the Otis Redding Center for the Arts (11 a.m.-2 p.m.), returns to Downtown Macon next Saturday. The lineup this year features headliners Kashus Culpepper and Langhorne Slim, along with dozens of other artists performing at 8 venues around downtown.
