Weekday Adventures in the Heart of Georgia (9/14-9/17)

This week includes events for bicyclists and bikers, healthcare professionals, trivia lovers, and live music fans. This Thursday, some Middle Georgians will be far from home celebrating Americana music in Nashville with The Creek 100.9, Visit Macon, and Capricorn Sound Studios. The following are just a few of the unique, interesting, and often free things to do this week in the heart of Georgia.

MONDAY, September 14th

  >> BIKING: 75 South Cycling Club’s Make it Happen Mondays at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton (6-8:30 p.m.)

The 75 South Cycling Club invites member cyclists, new and old, to ride with other club members starting at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. The route will be 15 to 20 easy to moderate miles on the road, according to the club. Learn more about Make it Happen Mondays online at this link.

  >> MUSIC: Strength Check at Roco’s Bar in Bonaire (10 p.m.)

The band Strength Check will play alternative rock, emo, and post-punk-inspired music at Roco’s Bar on Monday night. Strength Check will play originals and the band’s favorite covers. This event is free to attend.

TUESDAY, September 15th

  >> JOB FAIR: Healthcare Industry Career Fair at Central Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins (9-11:30 a.m.)

Job seekers interested in learning about healthcare industry businesses currently hiring, as well as the hiring needs in the industry, will meet on Tuesday at Central Georgia Technical College’s Warner Robins campus. The median annual wage for employees in healthcare was over $86,000 in May 2025, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This event is free and open to the public.

WEDNESDAY, September 16th

  >> Bike Night at Bearfoot Tavern in Macon (6-10:30 p.m.)

Bike Night is an event for bikers riding cruisers, sport bikes, and custom builds with live music, deals on beverages, and free paid motorcycle parking, according to Bearfoot Tavern. Bike Night takes place the 3rd Wednesday of each month at Bearfoot Tavern. Bearfoot Tavern's Bike Night is free to attend.

  >> SKATING: Rigby’s Skate Lessons at Rigby’s Entertainment Complex in Warner Robins (6:30-7:30 p.m.)

Experienced instructors will help skaters “level up your skating skills” during Rigby’s Skate Lessons. Skaters will rise through four levels to become an official Rigby’s Roller Roo, according to Rigby’s. Rigby’s Skate Lessons is included with Rigby’s regular skating rates, and skating wristbands can be purchased at the entertainment complex’s front desk.

THURSDAY, September 17th

  >> ROAD TRIP > MUSIC: Macon Music Revue at the Macon Breakfast and Roadshow (11 a.m.-1 p.m.)

The Creek 100.9, Visit Macon, and Capricorn Sound Studios invite artists, industry professionals, and music lovers to Macon Breakfast & Roadshow on Thursday. This event takes place during AmericanaFest in Nashville, Tennessee. The Macon Music Revue will perform for attendees to show off the musical talent found in Middle Georgia, according to the organizers.

  >> TRIVIA: Jeoparty at Bodega Brew in Perry (7 p.m.)

Bodega Brew presents a unique trivia game called Jeoparty this Thursday. Participants will team up with others for a chance to win prizes. There is no charge to play Jeoparty.

  >> SATURDAY, September 19th: 2026 Annual Native Plant Festival at the Boy Scout Road Nursery in Byron: Middle Georgia’s gardeners and plant enthusiasts will meet at the Boy Scout Road Nursery this Saturday for a festival all about native plants. Attendees can hear two one-hour presentations, take tours of the nursery, and buy beautiful native plants. There is no charge to attend this festival. (1494 Boy Scout Road, Byron)

  >> SATURDAY, September 19th through SUNDAY, September 20th: 52nd Annual Buggy Days Festival in Barnesville: Middle Georgians will celebrate the 200th anniversary of Barnesville with a weekend-long community event full of family activities, food, live entertainment, and hundreds of arts and crafts vendors. This event is free and open to the public. (Barnesville)

  >> SATURDAY, September 19th: Opening Reception for The Space Between at Artspace Macon in Macon (5-8 p.m.): Artspace Macon presents the opening reception for The Space Between, a group art show featuring artwork from local Macon artists that explores “positive and negative space both visually and metaphorically,” according to Artspace Macon.
