PRESS RELEASE: DBHDD Commissioner Kevin Tanner to Host Inaugural Flame of Hope Award Ceremony at State Capitol on December 6th
ATLANTA — The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) will host an inaugural ceremony for the Flame of Hope Awards on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 2:30—3 p.m. at the North Wing Steps (Governor’s Steps) of the Georgia State Capitol.
During the ceremony, Commissioner Kevin Tanner will recognize award recipients from the following areas: metro Atlanta region, Columbus, Macon, Northwest Georgia, Savannah and Valdosta. Elected officials representing these award recipients and stakeholders have also been invited to participate.
DBHDD's Flame of Hope Award recognizes individuals throughout the state who “fan the flames of hope” and further DBHDD’s mission and values. The Department selected seven award recipients out of 160 nominations from community leaders, board members, staff, affiliated organizations and providers.
