Warner Robins GA- on September 12th 2026 Middle Georgia is getting a permanent home for the strange, unusual, and wonderfully weird.Middle Georgia Oddities Market will officially open the doors to its new brick-and-mortar store on Saturday, September 12, 2026, bringing the same love of oddities, natural history, handmade art, and unique curiosities that made its markets popular throughout Middle Georgia into a permanent retail space.
Located in Warner Robins, the new store is an extension of Middle Georgia Oddities Market, which began as a local oddities market and has quickly grown into a community of artists, collectors, makers, and people who simply love things a little outside the ordinary.
The store will feature a rotating selection of oddities, curiosities, natural history specimens, taxidermy, bones, insects, handmade jewelry, artwork, home décor, and other unusual finds from both local and independent creators.
“We wanted to create a place where people could walk in and never quite know what they're going to find,” said Kristie Whisler, founder of Middle Georgia Oddities Market. “There are so many incredibly talented artists and collectors in this area, and we wanted to create a permanent space where they could be discovered while also giving the community something completely different from a typical retail store.”
The store will also serve as a home for the organization's growing lineup of hands-on oddity workshops and classes, giving visitors the opportunity to create their own unusual pieces using ethically and sustainably sourced specimens.
As with the organization's markets and workshops, specimens used by the store and its classes are sustainably sourced, and nothing is intentionally harmed for the purpose of the workshops.
Middle Georgia Oddities Market has also become known for its community involvement. Its markets have brought together hundreds of vendors and thousands of shoppers while raising money and collecting donations for local animal rescues and other community causes.
The new storefront will continue that community-focused spirit while giving Middle Georgia a year-round destination for artists, collectors, oddity enthusiasts, and the simply curious.
