PRESS RELEASE: State Affairs Georgia to host “Killed While Crossing” Town Hall on pedestrian safety

ATLANTA. — State Affairs Georgia will host a town hall discussion to examine Georgia’s pedestrian safety crisis from 2 to 4 p.m. EDT on Sept. 20 at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in Macon.

Tens of thousands of pedestrians have been killed or injured on Georgia roads since 2018, placing the state among the 10 most dangerous in the nation for people on foot. The town hall will bring together policymakers, safety officials and advocates for a public conversation about the causes of the crisis and potential solutions.

41NBC morning news anchor Tyrik Wynn will moderate the discussion. Panelists include:

● State Sen. Kay Kirkpatrick, majority caucus secretary and chairwoman of the Senate Committee

on Children and Families
