This week there are many chances to be entertained by attending a live music show, laughing at a funny performer at the Capitol Theatre, and much more. The following are just a few of the shows you can catch in the next few days in Middle Georgia. 

FRIDAY, JANUARY 5

BOB AND BLENDER AT FRESH PRODUCE (5 - 8 P.M.)

Bob and Blender will be performing acoustic rock, pop, country, and indie music acoustic style, on the sidewalk in front of Fresh Produce. This band has two members, one a human and the other his loyal dog.

GROUND HUM AT PARISH ON CHERRY ST. (7 P.M.)

First Friday is here for the first time in 2024 and Ground Hum will be celebrating the occasion by playing popular 90’s alternative music in Downtown Macon.

OPEN MIC NIGHT AT 44TH AND MADISON EVENT COMPANY + VENUE IN WARNER ROBINS (7 P.M.)

Cherelle Clay and Charisse Hall will host an Open Mic Night on Friday night. The venue’s happy hour is 7 to 8 p.m. and tickets are $10 on eventbrite.com.

ALPHONSO THOMAS AND TARI PURCELL “UNPLUGGED” AT CHURCHILLS ON CHERRY (8 P.M.)

Get ready for a smooth jazz, funk, and rhythm and blues experience as musicians Alphonso Thomas and Tari Purcell perform in Downtown Macon Friday night. Churchills on Cherry is a cigar lounge that serves food and adult beverages.

DJ ZERO AT CASHMAN’S PUB (8 P.M.)

DJ Zero is a regular performer at Cashman’s Pub in Downtown Macon and he will be there Friday night. There is no cover at this bar and restaurant.

TRES HOMBRES AT 20’S PUB (9 P.M.)

The band Tres Hombres will be playing classic rock and roll and blues at 20’s Pub tonight. There will be no cover charge for this show.

THE PARTY DUO AT WILD WING CAFE (WARNER ROBINS) (9 P.M.)

The party band Party Duo will be performing at the Wild Wing Cafe in Warner Robins on Friday. This Wild Wing Cafe is located off of Lake Joy Road.

KUNTRY MATHIS AT WILD WING CAFE (MACON) (9 - 11 P.M.)

Kuntry Mathis will be playing “high-cotton country” music at Wild Wing Cafe. There is no cover charge at Wild Wing Cafe (which is located off Riverside Drive in Macon).

SWEET DIESELS HONKY TONK HEYDAY AT GRANT’S LOUNGE (10 P.M.)

Sweet Diesel will be performing at the historic Grant’s Lounge on First Friday. They will be playing “all your favorite classic country hits” and tickets cost $10 at the door or online.

BRANDO AT JBA (10 P.M.)

DJ Brando will be playing “original electronic music” at JBA late Friday night. The bar and music venue recently added some colorful lasers to make the dance floor light up. There will be a cover charge of $5 for those 21 and older and $10 for those 18 to 20 years of age.

THE PEACH STREET BAND AT THE HUMMINGBIRD (10 P.M.)

The Peach Street Band plays country rock music and they will be performing for the first time at The Hummingbird this Friday. The Hummingbird usually charges a cover of $5 for their live music shows.



SATURDAY, JANUARY 6

“NABUCCO” (GUISEPPE VERDI) THE MET OPERA LIVE IN HD AT THE DOUGLASS THEATRE (12:55 P.M.)

The Met Opera will perform “Nabucco” virtually at the Douglass Theatre on Saturday afternoon. This opera brings Ancient Babylon to life on the stage. The performance will be preceded by Opera Talk at 12:30 p.m. by Dr. Mary Keating. General Admission is $25 while seniors pay $20 and students (with IDs) pay $15.

COMEDIAN SAM MILLER AT THE CAPITOL THEATRE (7 P.M.)

The funny Sam Miller will be performing at The Capitol Theatre on Saturday evening. Miller is from Olympia, Washington, and tours nationally. His comedy often deals with his sobriety and parenthood. Tickets start at $15 at the door or online.

MAKEDA NICHELLE AT APT. 77 (7 P.M.)

The talented Makeda Nichelle will be performing at Downtown Macon’s Apt. 77 on Saturday. This is part of Apt. 77’s Live Band experience series.

JOSH COURSON AT CASHMAN’S PUB (7 P.M.)

Josh Courson is a country music performer based in Nashville who will be performing at Cashman’s Pub this Saturday. There will be no cover charge for this show.

IDLEWILD SOUTH AND FRIENDS BENEFIT FOR DEBI AND DON EASON AT GRANT’S LOUNGE (8 P.M.)

Idlewild South is an Allman Brothers Band tribute band founded by keyboardist and vocalist Don Eason. They will be playing with some talented friends at Grant’s and proceeds from the show will help benefit the Easons. Tickets cost $20 at the door or online.

THE LOVE YOU LIKE THE 90’S CELEBRATION IN MILLEDGEVILLE (9 P.M.)

Fans of 90’s rhythm and blues music will gather for The Love You Like the 90’s Celebration on Saturday. This show will take place at 611 Hammock Road Northwest in Milledgeville.

RECKLESS ROSE AT WILD WING CAFE (MACON) (9 P.M.)

The band Reckless Rose will be performing at Macon’s Wild Wing Cafe on Saturday night. There is no cover charge at this restaurant and music venue.


SUNDAY, JANUARY 7

ROAD TRIP: ORGAN CONCERT AT CALLAWAY GARDENS IN PINE MOUNTAIN (1 P.M.)

A musician will perform on Callaway Garden’s “custom-built Möller pipe organ” at their Memorial Chapel on Sunday. This show will be free with admission to Callaway Gardens.

MCKINLEY STARKS AND FRIENDS AT CHRIST CHURCH - EPISCOPAL’S FIRST SUNDAYS ON THE FISK (5:30 P.M.)

Multi-talented musician McKinley Starks will sing and perform on Christ Church’s Fisk Organ and other instruments on Sunday. This performance is part of the church’s First Sundays on the Fisk series.

THE MILL QUEENS AND THE ROGAROUS AT BUFFINGTON’S IN MILLEDGEVILLE (6 - 9 P.M.)

The restaurant Buffington’s will host a performance from The Mill Queens and the Rogarous on Sunday evening. There is no cover charge at Buffington’s.
