February has arrived and the weather is surprisingly spring like already. There are lots of interesting and fun things to do this week, including many Galentine's Day and Valentine's Day events, live music and comedy performances, and much, much more. The following are just a few of the adventures to be had this week in the heart of Georgia.
MONDAY, February 3rd
Igloo Experience at Hightales Rooftop Bar (1-10 p.m.)
Hightales Rooftop Bar, which is perched several stories up on Downtown Macon’s Hotel Forty Five, is a great place to get a good view of the city. Sometimes though the chilly wind can be bone chilling. The Igloo Experience invites visitors to visit the bar and get a great view of Macon while being shielded from the cold. TUESDAY, February 4th
Sassy Alpaca Grand Opening on Spring Street (10 a.m.-5 p.m.)
The Sassy Alpaca is a store that sells beauty, cosmetic, and personal care items and will be having its Grand Opening celebration this Tuesday. Guests will get a chance to win free giveaways, Valentine bundles, and more. Sassy Alpaca is located next to the Three Countries restaurant.

WEDNESDAY, February 5th
Macon Mayhem Coach’s Show at Fatty’s Pizza (6 p.m.)
The Macon Mayhem’s coaching staff will be interviewed and a few guest speakers will give presentations during the Macon Mayhem’s Coach’s Show on Wednesday. While there will be no questions answered from the crowd at Fatty’s Pizza, you can submit a question to possibly be answered at this link. This event for Mayhem fans is free to attend.

Galentine’s Night Out at Brass Rack (6 p.m.-12 a.m.)
Galentine’s Day is now a real holiday that celebrates women’s friendship though it was started because of a fictional holiday in the television show Parks and Recreation and takes place on February 13th. The Brass Rack will celebrate the holiday early with a permanent jewelry bar, custom trucker hat bar, drink specials, and more.

THURSDAY, February 6th
Piedmont Macon North Business After Hours (5:30-7 p.m.)
Piedmont Macon North Hospital will host the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce’s “Heart & Soul Networking Night” this Thursday. This event will celebrate February as Heart Month while promoting networking between “local professionals and community leaders.” Business After Hours is free to attend.

Galentine’s DIY Charm Bar Night at The Vintage Thread (6-8 p.m.)
Downtown Macon’s The Vintage Thread will celebrate Galentine’s Day with a Do It Yourself Charm Bar this Thursday evening. Attendees will receive either a bracelet or necklace, 5 charms, complimentary drinks, and more. There will only be 12 tickets available which cost $40 on The Vintage Thread’s website.

FRIDAY, February 7th
Sweetheart Market 2025 at Houston County Galleria Mall (11 a.m.-5 p.m.)
Over 20 vendors will celebrate Valentine’s Day with Sweetheart Market 2025 at the Houston County Galleria Mall. Handmade and unique products, and sweet treats, will be for sale at this event for lovers.

Gallery West’s 10th Anniversary Celebration (5-9 p.m.)
Gallery West is the home of the photography of Kirk West, whose position as The Allman Brother’s Band touring manager for 25 years allowed him to photograph a variety of famous musicians like ABB as well as Muddy Waters, Tom Waits, The Rolling Stones, and many more. The anniversary celebration will include fresh food from Grow Restaurant and free beverages. Scott Baston and Headstrings will be entertaining celebrators with live music.

Food Trucks and Flannel in Milledgeville (5-9 p.m.)
Milledgeville’s First Friday celebrations will include a Sasquatch and Flannel theme that will likely mean some wild and strange sights around the Old Capitol City. A sighting of the mysterious Bigfoot isn’t out of the question, reportedly. The Georgia College & State University’s Bobcats will also be on hand to celebrate First Friday at this event. The first 200 attendees wearing flannel will receive a free gift and there will be themed photo ops, according to the organizer Milledgeville Main Street. There will also be food trucks, bonfires, live music from Fall Line Rambler, as well as games and activities at this free, family-friendly event.

February First Friday in Downtown Macon (5-11:45 p.m.)
Downtown Macon will celebrate the first Friday in February with live music, specials at restaurants (like Braddock’s Cask & Table) and bars and shopping retailers (like Daphne’s 525), as well as art gallery openings, and other special events.
The following are a few of the events taking place this First Friday in Downtown Macon:
- The Overlook of First, which is the newest event venue in Downtown Macon, will have its venue open house with guided tours, on free drink, light hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment from musician Blane Dunnam, and more. It is located above Just Tap’d on 1st Street.
- The 567 Center will present the opening of the Pink Poodle Parade Gallery in preparation for the upcoming Cherry Blossom Festival with light refreshments (5-8 p.m.)
- DJ B3 will be on the turntables spinning a family-friendly “chill set” at Sweet Eleanors (6-8 p.m.)
DJ B3 can also be found performing at JBA's Whiskey Wednesdays
- Dani Carpenter will be performing at Hotel Forty Five’s Loom (7 p.m.)

Third Street Studio Macon’s First Friday Open Studio (5-8 p.m.)
Third Street Studio, the video and photography studio in Downtown Macon, will be opening its doors for the curious this Friday evening. Guests will get a chance to test out the studio’s equipment and network with other creatives at this free event.

Choral Heritage Festival at The Douglass Theatre (6 p.m.)
The Choral Heritage Festival will celebrate African American composers and be led by Alicia Carner-McDonald. The All Douglass Choir, which will be made up of four Macon high schools (Central, Northeast, Howard, and Rutland) and the Fort Valley University Concert Ensemble will also perform at this free event during African American History Month.

Museum of Arts and Science’s 28th Annual Father-Daughter Dance (6:30-8:30 p.m.)
The Museum of Arts and Science will present another Father-Daughter Dance this Friday night. The Townsend’s School of Music collaborative piano students and instrumental students will also perform at this free and open concert.

Drake Milligan is not only a singer and songwriter but also an actor. Rebuilding Macon Yard Sale (9 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Rebuilding Macon, Inc. will be having a yard sale from its warehouse on Saturday with doors, light fixtures, flooring, and more. Rebuilding Macon is an organization that seeks to help elderly and disabled, low-income individuals with free repairs to their dwellings.

3rd Annual Downtown Gray Galentine’s Sip & Shop (10 a.m.-3 p.m.)
The city of Gray will present its 3rd Annual Galentine’s Sip & Shop this Saturday. The event will include live music, cold beverages, and specials in local businesses like Bass Trading Company.

This event will feature young artists as well as makers and their artwork and products. The products sold will all be made by kids. The 3rd Annual Kids Only Pop-up encourages kids to showcase their talents as well as learn about business.

Middle Georgia Literary Festival in Warner Robins (12-4 p.m.)
Middle Georgia Lit Fest returns to Warner Robins on Saturday. Middle Georgia Lit Fest is presented by Between Friends Coffee and Between Friends Publishing, in partnership with the City of Warner Robins and Visit Warner Robins. There will be authors, poets, illustrators, artists, publishers, web designers, podcasters, voice actors, and more as well as vendors selling assorted items that will interest the literary minded. This year the festival has grown and will take place at multiple locations. The Middle Georgia Lit Fest is free and open to the public.

The Society Garden’s Annual Chili Showdown: Taste & Judge (2 p.m.)
The Annual Chili Showdown will include lots of tasty chilis, live music, fires to gather around, and cold adult beverages. Tickets cost $10 and include samples from each proud chili cooker and a chance to vote for the chili champion. Prize awards start at $10 with the Judges Winner receiving $250 in cold hard cash.

The Macon Pops will be holding its annual fundraiser on Saturday at Emerson at Plum.
