Adventurers have a lot to choose from this weekend, with many opportunities for shopping, listening to live music, and enjoying artwork from talented local artists. Of particular note, Macon's East Coast dream rock music band Shy Company will be performing at The Robins Financial Capitol Theatre this Friday night. The following are just a few of the fun, interesting, and often free things to do this weekend in the heart of Georgia.
FRIDAY, July 10th
>> SHOPPING: Booth 810 The Furbabies Corner at The Antique Mall of Warner Robins (10 a.m.-6 p.m.)
Shopping can be a lot of fun, but helping others is more rewarding. You can do both at The Antique Mall of Warner Robins’ The Furbabies Corner, where your purchases help the Humane Society of Houston County take care of animals in need. The Antique Mall of Warner Robins has many positive reviews online, with shoppers noting the pleasantness of the staff, the variety of antique items to be found, and the fun had discovering interesting things from the past. The Furbabies Corner is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

>> TATTOOS: Battles Ink Tattoo Circus and Feed the Community Event in Warner Robins (10 a.m.)
Veteran-owned and operated Battles Ink Tattoo will present the Battles Ink Tattoo Circus this Friday in Warner Robins with 200 free BBQ plates, giveaways, carnival games, and a Flash Sale of tattoos starting at 11 a.m. The Peach State Sunset Slush truck will also be on hand to help patrons survive another hot day in July. A portion of the proceeds from this flash sheet will also go to the Houston County Sharks. This event is free to attend.
> Battles Ink Tattoo: 4993 Russell Parkway, Warner Robins
>> ART: Connected Through Art & Heart at the Macon Arts Alliance (4-7 p.m.)
Connected Through Art & Heart is a unique art exhibit featuring paintings, ceramics, prints, and mixed-media works from local artists with autism, developmental disabilities, and other neurodivergencies. This exhibit is made possible by the collaborative arts program and studio partnership between the nonprofit The Arc Macon, which supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and Artspace Macon. Connected Through Art & Heart will be on display through Friday, July 17th. You can meet the artists and creatives of The Art Macon and Artspace Macon from 5 to 6 p.m. There is no charge for this family-friendly event.

>> ART: Becoming: A Bobbi Johnson Exhibit at Milledgeville Baldwin Couty Allied Arts (5-7 p.m.)
The opening reception of Becoming: A Bobbi Johnson Exhibit will take place this Friday evening in Milledgeville. Johnson is a mixed-media artist based in Sparta who creates acrylic, texture mediums, and layered mark-making artworks. Becoming “celebrate[s] the power of change and personal evolution,” according to Visit Milledgeville’s website. Becoming will be on display through July 30th, and the gallery is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

>> FOOD/ART: Hot Glass Supper at stARTup Studios in Macon (5:30-7 p.m.)
Chef David Bartlett will present a curated multi-course menu along with live glassblowing from stARTup Studio’s Lead Glassblower, Bryan Beck at this unique culinary event. Diners will enjoy distinctive menu items like the Glass-Broiled Ahi Tuna Wonton Taco and the Molten-Glass Seared Black Tenderloin during the evening. The plates will also come with a free glass item created at stARTup Studio’s glassblowing studio. Tickets to Hot Glass Supper cost $125 and can be purchased at this link while supplies last (the 7 p.m. seating has long been sold out).

>> Fractal Friday at the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon (6–8 p.m.)
The Museum of Arts and Sciences and the Fractal Foundation of Albuquerque, New Mexico, present of art-infused science in the planetarium this Friday. The 6 p.m. showing is a family-friendly introduction to fractals and geometric patterns while the 7 p.m. showing, "Fractals Rock," is a more experiential production with flight animations and dynamic color cycling, according to the museum. More details about Fractal Fridays, which take place every second Friday through December, are available online at this link. Admission costs $8 for museum members and $10 for non-members: tickets can be purchased online at the MAS website or at the museum.

>> ART: See the Children Artist Talk at The 567 Center for Renewal in Macon (6-7 p.m.)
This Friday evening, hear from the talented artists whose artworks are featured in the See the Children art exhibit at The 567. This exhibit brought together black creators from all around Middle Georgia, including Kevin “Scene” Lewis, Char Lockett, Rhonda “Sunshine” Miller, Jay White, Kiev, Euphoria Artblock, and Randy Heart. There is no charge to attend this family-friendly event.

Macon’s premier lifestyle magazine, Macon Magazine, is throwing a party with live music from the ultra-talented Shy Company on Friday evening at The Robins Financial Capitol Theatre. Patrons 21 and older will receive 1 free beer with their tickets. Purchase a ticket to see Shy Company live online at this link.

>> MUSIC: Soundabout Revival with Hughes Taylor at The Society Garden (8 p.m.)
Macon’s own Hughes Taylor will debut his new band, Soundabout Revival, at The Society Garden this Friday night. Taylor combines the music genres of blues and rock to create a sound inspired by artists like Jimi Hendrix and the Allman Brothers Band, and his skillful guitar playing is impressive to watch. There will be a $10 cover at the gate for this show.

>> MUSIC: One Horse Parade’s Everything Will Be Ok Album Release Party at Vice Bar (9 p.m.)
One Horse Parade will release the band’s newest album, Everything Will Be Ok, at Downtown Macon’s Vice Bar this Friday. Justin Cutway will be open with an acoustic set of some of his new music, and the One Horse Parade will perform the album in full afterward. There is no cover at Vice Bar.

SATURDAY, July 11th
>> SHOPPING: Monticello Market in the Monticello Town Square (9 a.m.-1 p.m.)
The Monticello Market takes place every Saturday from May 9th to August 29th. Local businesses will be on hand with fresh, local produce, baked goods, and more.

>> SHOPPING: Golden Dagger Tattoo Club presents the Oddities Market and Flash Event in Bonaire (7/11-7/12) (11 a.m.-7 p.m.)
The two-day-long Oddities Market and Flash Event at the Golden Dagger Tattoo Club will include food trucks and local community vendors selling a variety of strange and mysterious items. The tattoo shop will offer discounted flash tattoos and more. There is no admission to this event.

>> SHROOM Inn 2026: A Foraging & Culinary Experience at Lake Oconee (7/11-7/12) (11 a.m.)
Learn the difference between a false and true chanterelle and recipes for delicious chanterelles during Shroom INN 2026 at Beloved Cabin on Lake Oconee. Expect games, music, and fun as well, according to the organizers. Saturday night, there will be a potluck dinner, karaoke, and a Best Hippy Outfit Contest. SHROOM Inn 2026 costs $50, with free on-site camping (bring your own gear) and in-vehicle and van camping allowed, or $120 for a tiny house rental: purchase tickets online at this link.

Wellness Hug will host a yoga class that will include a unique cork yoga block painting experience. Yoga instructor Codi Potter will lead this class. Tickets cost $45, which includes 2 yoga blocks to paint and keep, or $25 to use your own cork blocks (make sure to arrive by 1:30 p.m. to seal them or you lose painting time). Eatonton Main Street will present another concert in the Downtown GetDown Concert Series on Saturday with a performance from the Vintage Vixens, an Atlanta band that plays the hits from the 60s and early 70s. Local vendors will be open starting at 6 p.m. Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs and coolers to enjoy this free, family-friendly concert.

>> Movies at the Mansion: “Hamilton” at Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion in Milledgeville (8 p.m.)
Watch a screening of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Hamilton" on the lawn of the grand Old Governor’s Mansion in Milledgeville this Saturday night. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs. Entry is free, and concessions will be served with a suggested donation of $2 per item, according to Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion.

SUNDAY, July 12th
>> MUSIC: Sing Along Brunch: Battle of the 90’s Boys Bands at Switch Macon (12 p.m.)
Switch Macon will present a Sing Along Brunch on Sunday for fans of 90’s boy bands. Expect hilarious renditions of songs from bands like NSYNC, 98 Degrees, and Boyz II Men. Switch Macon will also be serving mimosa specials and cocktails while presenting interactive games with prizes. Tickets to this karaoke event cost $6 per person online at this link.

Artspace Macon will be presenting Art & Sound on Sunday to end the week with some peaceful vibes from Positive Sound Vibes. Attendees will create artwork while listening to the unmistakable sound of crystal singing bowls. Art supplies will be provided, but participants can also bring their own supplies and journals. Tickets to Art & Sound cost $40 per person.

>> TUESDAY, July 14th: Storytellers Macon presents “The Taste of Freedom at Grant’s Lounge in Macon (6:30-8 p.m.): Storytellers Macon brings another evening of storytelling to historic Grant’s Lounge next Tuesday. Dr. Keith Moffett, County Manager for Macon-Bibb County, will be the featured storyteller. Audience members can also sign up to tell a true, 5-minute-long story that revolves around the theme of freedom and how it is “supported, protected, and passed forward.” This open-mic event takes place every 2nd Tuesday of the month. >> WEDNESDAY, July 15th: Art of Science: Anatomy and Art at the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon (7-8:30 p.m.): The Museum of Arts and Sciences’ new Lecture Performance Series, “The Art of Science,” continues next Wednesday with a class about anatomy for all ages from Art Historian Lauryn Dawson.
