"Moonlight and Magnolias" is a play based on the true story of David O. Selznick, a famous Hollywood producer, after he fired the director of "Gone with the Wind" and needed a new director and writer. 

The play follows Selznick, along with Victor Fleming (of The Wizard of Oz), and screenwriter/novelist Ben Hecht, as they put themselves into seclusion in order to create the screenplay that would go on to help make "Gone with the Wind" the dramatic movie that it is.
