Fun and Interesting Events in Macon this Week (12/5 - 12/11)

The second week of December in Macon will include festive special events and attractions, an 80’s icon will perform at The Society Garden on Thursday, and there will be plenty of other fun things to do as well. The following is a short list of just a few of the interesting events taking place this week.


MONDAY, DECEMBER 5TH

Miracle on Ingleside Christmas Bar at The Society Garden (5 - 11:50 p.m.)

Society Garden has a Miracle on Ingleside Christmas cocktail bar that will be open nightly until December 31st. The themed bar includes specialty cocktails, inside snow, and lots of festive decorations. On Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. specialty family events will allow those under 21 to experience the Miracle on Ingleside Christmas Bar but at all other times the bar is for those 21 years of age and older. Table reservations are required to attend and they can be made online. The Society Garden is located at 2389 Ingleside Avenue in Macon.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 6TH

Blind Draw Cornhole at Fall Line Brewing Co. (6:30 p.m.)

Fall Line Brewing Co. hosts a blind draw cornhole tournament on Tuesday night. Players register and then are paired with a partner through a “blind draw pairing” and play a single game with double elimination. The cost to play is $10 in advance and $15 at the time of the tournament. Fall Line Brewing Co. is located at 567 Plum Street in Macon.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 7TH

Christmas Pajama Party at Ocmulgee Brewpub (7:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.)

Ocmulgee Brewpub is hosting a holiday event for the family on Wednesday night. Guests are invited to wear their pajamas and enjoy a free kids meal with the purchase of an adult entree. At 6:30 p.m. a kid friendly Christmas movie will be screened and there will also be free popcorn and a craft for the kids. Ocmulgee Brewpub is located at 484 2nd Street in Macon.



THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8TH

Corey Feldman Plays the Garden (8:30 p.m.)

Corey Feldman, who starred in the many popular 80’s movies including "Stand by Me”, “Gremlins”, “The Goonies", and “Lost Boys”, will be performing with his band Corey's Angels at The Society Garden on Thursday night. For those wanting even more of the 80’s, The Society Garden will also present 80’s themed trivia starting at 7 p.m. Ticket prices for Feldman's performance start at $15 and can be purchased online. The Society Garden is located at 2389 Ingleside Avenue in Macon.

Macon Bike Party: Holiday Hustle (6 p.m.)

Macon Bike Party’s Holiday Hustle invites the public to get their bikes and helmets, Christmas lights, and festive outfits to see Downtown Macon's thousands of bright Christmas lights while biking. Registration for this event begins at the Bike Walk Macon Office at 6:00 p.m. and the bike ride starts 6:30 pm. The Macon Bike Party starts and ends at the Bike Walk Macon office located at 830 High Street in Macon.

Theatre Macon presents Miracle on 34th Street (7:30 p.m.)

Theatre Macon presents a performance of the heartwarming Miracle on 34th Street on Thursday evening. Proceeds from the show will support Depaul USA Daybreak. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9th

Christmas Cookie and Beer Flights at Fall Line Brewing Co. (12 - 9 p.m.)

Fall Line Brewing Co. will pair cookies with a flight of some of their brew team’s favorite beers at this event Friday. Fall Line Brewing Co. is located at 567 Plum Street in Macon.

Mayor’s Sneaker Ball at the Macon City Auditorium (6:30 p.m.)

Mayor Lester Miller is presenting the Macon-Bibb County Mayor’s Sneaker Ball on Friday evening. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in their fanciest outfits and coolest sneakers. There will be live music performances from Otis Redding Children’s Choir, Justin Cutway, and Collective Space. Balcony tickets cost $40, individual table seats cost $125, and whole tables cost $1,000 and they can all be purchased on Ticketmaster.com. The Macon City Auditorium is located at 415 First Street in Macon.

Macon Youth Orchestra presents A Festive Return Concert (6:30 p.m.)

The Macon Youth Orchestra will present a free concert on Friday night which will include festive Christmas music. This event takes place in Pierce Chapel at Wesleyan College located at 4760 Forsyth Road in Perry.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10TH

2022 Holiday Tour of Homes in Macon (1 - 6 p.m.)

InTown Macon presents the 2022 Holiday Tour of Homes this Saturday and Sunday. Nine stylish Macon homes and four churches are included on the tour this year. Presale tickets are being sold online, at Creters, The Bohemian Den, and 7th St. Salvage’s Saturday markets will sell tickets prior to the event for $20, tickets at the event will cost $25, and VIP tickets cost $50 and include a reception at the Burke Mansion on Saturday at 7 p.m. The historic Saint Joseph church will be part of the tour but will only be open for viewing Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Sunday from 1 until 4 p.m.

Christmas in Downtown Macon (2 - 6 p.m.)

Downtown Macon will be the location of several festive events as part of Christmas in Downtown on Saturday. Events include live musical performances at the Rookery, a Santa Bingo game and a Pine Cone Ornament Craft at NewTown Macon’s office, a Paint your Own Ornament activity for $3 and free hot cocoa at The 567 Center for Renewal, and much more. Other participating locations in Downtown Macon include Just Tap’d, The Bohemian Den, Fall Line Brewing Co., Pearl, and Felicia’s Cake Factory

Comedian Nate Bargatze’s The Raincheck Tour at Macon City Auditorium (7 p.m.)

Nate Bargatze will perform at the Macon City Auditorium on Saturday night. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the show will start at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on Ticketmaster.com or at the Macon Coliseum box office on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. The Macon City Auditorium takes place along 415 First Street in Macon.

Wasted Potential Brass Band at The Society Garden (8:30 p.m.)

Wasted Potential Brass Band is a party band who will be performing at The Society Garden on Saturday. This band started out as a street band in Decatur and now can often be found performing at festivals and bars in Atlanta. The Society Garden is located at 2389 Ingleside Avenue in Macon.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11TH

Triangle Arts Market Holiday Event (11 a.m. - 5 p.m.)

Triangle Arts Macon will present a holiday shopping event with unique gifts from local artists on Sunday. Triangle Arts Macon is located at 206 Lower Elm Street in Macon.

The Nutcracker of Middle Georgia at the Grand Opera House (1:30 and 2:30 p.m.)

The Nutcracker of Middle Georgia will present five performances at the Grand Opera House from Thursday through Sunday of this week. This production includes talented Middle Georgia youth and professional dancers from around the U.S. Tickets start at $30 and can be purchased on the Grand’s website. The Grand Opera House is located at 651 Mulberry Street in Macon.
