Macon will have all types of bands performing at bars and music venues across the city this weekend, including a band described as "Tori Amos meets Tool" and one described as a "Soulternative" band by Buzzfeed. Here are just a few of the interesting live music performance taking place around Macon this weekend.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3
FAIRLY WEATHERED FRIENDS AND THE PRICE IS RITE AT BEARFOOT TAVERN (7 - 11 p.m.)
Fairly Weathered Friends is a band from Macon whose music that is a mix of rock originals and "mashed up" cover songs. Tripp Spears and Matthew will also be debuting their newest project named "the Price is riTE". Barefoot Tavern is a popular gastropub and beer garden as well as a music venue at times.
TRAVIS DENNING WITH SPECIAL GUESTS CAM VANCE AND LAYTON SHEETS AT HARGRAY CAPITOL THEATRE (8 - 11 p.m.)
Travis Denning is a country music singer/songwriter from Warner Robins who released his debut album "Beer's Better Cold" two years ago and more recently an album named "ABBY" last year. Cam Vance is a musician from nearby Perry and Layton Sheets if from Warner Robins. This show is in demand and you might have trouble getting tickets if you haven't already bought them.

ROOSEVELT COLLIER AT GRANT'S LOUNGE (9 p.m. - 12 a.m.)
Roosevelt Collier has the iconic nickname "The Dr." and he expertly plays the pedal steel guitar. The Dr. has performed at festivals with major bands like the Allman Brothers, Lost Lobos, and others. Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased online.
CHASE CARTER AT BILLY'S CLUBHOUSE (10 p.m. - 2 a.m.)
Chase Carter is a country music artist who plays honky tonk hit songs. Carter is based out of Macon and his style is described as a mixture of 90's sound and artists like Morgan Waller.
ALL THE LOCALS AT THE HUMMINGBIRD (10 p.m. - 2 a.m.)
All The Locals was described as a "Soulternative" band by Buzzfeed and they play a mix of soul, rock, and blues music. They also have a horn section. The Hummingbird Stage and Taproom's cover charge is $5 at the door.
SISTER SANDOZ AND TOMBSTONE BLUE AT JBA (10 p.m.)
Sister Sandoz has been described as "Tori Amos meets Tool" who started out in 2013 as a band named 6L6. At some point during their music career the band changed their name to Sister Sandoz after the unique middle name of lead singer, Becky Sandoz Carlisle. Carlisle is also a classically trained mezzo-soprano but is just as talented at screaming out lyrics to heavy metal songs. Tombstone Blue is a heavy metal band from Perry. JBA does not charge a cover charge and has a wide range of cocktails and specialty drinks.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4
NICK MALLOY AT THE SOCIETY GARDEN (8 - 11 p.m.)
Nick Malloy is a country music singer and songwriter from Macon. Malloy had a very serious car accident that almost took his life in 2013. He refused to let his serious injuries stop him from writing and performing music. If Malloy's last name seems familiar to you it is probably because his father is Frank Malloy news broadcaster at 13WMAZ. Society Garden usually charges a cover charge at the door that starts a bit before their live music performances.
THE SHADE TREES WITH JUSTIN CUTAWAY AT GRANT'S LOUNGE (9 p.m.)
Daniel NeSmith of the band "Back City Woods" formed The Shade Trees. This band is described as a "Southern Eclectic Musical Experience". Justin Cutaway is originally from Pennsylvania but has been performing in Macon for more than ten years. Tickets cost $10 and they can be purchased online.
THE VARDEN AT BILLY'S CLUBHOUSE (10 p.m. - 2 a.m.)
The Varden is a five piece jam band from North Georgia who play popular rock and roll songs. Billy's Clubhouse is located in North Macon and they do not charge a cover charge.
RESOLUTION RUINER PARTY WITH DJ LUPO AT THE HUMMINGBIRD (10 p.m. - 2 a.m.)
If you haven't already broken all of your New Year's resolutions, The Hummingbird is throwing a party so you can go ahead and get it out of the way. DJ Lupo will be performing live and Mercer University students with a student ID over 21 will get in free. The Hummingbird Stage and Taproom's cover charge for everyone else is $5 at the door.
