International Cherry Blossom Festival's concert series includes 10 nights of music and fun

The International Cherry Blossom Festival returns to Macon soon and brings with it some well-known music headliners as well.

The ten day festival starts on Friday, March 17th and ends on Sunday, March 26th and includes a concert series that features different musical performances every night.

This article will review all of the live music that visitors can enjoy during the 2023 International Cherry Blossom Festival.

  • Friday, March 17th - AJ the DJ will perform for a dance party for younger kids from 5 until 7 p.m. After that show, AJ the DJ will throw a party for adults from 8 until 9 p.m. which will include a colorful laser light show.
  • Saturday, March 18th - Junior Marvin’s The Legendary Wailers will perform starting at 8 p.m. Julian Junior Marvin became a member of Bob Marley & The Wailers (after turning down an invitation to join Stevie Wonder's band) in the late 70s and now heads his own version of the Wailers.

  • Sunday, March 19th - Stephen Freemen presents A Tribute to Elvis starting at 8 p.m. Stephen Freeman is an actor and the leader of the tribute band who honor Elvis with their performance on the 19th.
  • Monday, March 20th - Demun Jones is a country and rap singer and songwriter who hails from Jones County and he will perform starting at 8 p.m. Jones was previously in Rehab, the Southern hip hop group from Warner Robins and was a songwriter on Colt Ford’s “Ride Through the Country”.

  • Tuesday, March 21st - Sugarhill Gang will begin their performance starting at 8 p.m. This band is best known for their biggest hit “Rapper’s Delight” which was released in 1979. Their hit song was also the first rap single to become a top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
  • Wednesday, March 22th - Rock the 90’s USA, The Official 90’s Rock Tribute will begin a performance starting at 8 p.m. This band performs the greatest hits of 90's alternative rock and roll.
  • Thursday, March 23th - Yacht Rock Revue will start their performance at 8 p.m. This Atlanta band performs primarily cover songs of soft rock songs from the 60s, 70s, and even more recent eras.
  • Friday, March 24th - Eli Young Band is a country band that will begin playing at 8 p.m. This award winning band has had popular hits like “Crazy Girl” and “Even if it Breaks your Heart”.
  • Saturday, March 25th - Mother’s Finest is a popular band that mixes guitar heave rock and roll with funk music and soul and rhythm and blues vocals.

  • Sunday, March 26th - Macon Pops will be the last musical act at the International Cherry Blossom Festival with a performance starting at 6:30 p.m. Macon Pops is a popular orchestra band that will perform classic rock hits from bands like Queen and Fleetwood Mac from the 70s through the 80s.

Tickets to the International Cherry Blossom Festival will cost $10 for guests 11 years old and older and children 10 and under will receive free entry.

Visitors to the International Cherry Blossom Festival should be aware of the clear bag policy in effect again this year that allows guests to bring their personal items into Carolyn Crayton Park inside of a clear bag.
