Saint Patrick's Day, also known as the Feast of Saint Patrick, is held on March 17th to celebrate the "foremost patron saint of Ireland", Saint Patrick.

There are many ways to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, including with a big feast, a church service, parades, festivals, wearing green clothing or shamrocks, and also, for many, drinking alcohol. This year St. Patrick's Day will take place on a Friday and many of the events will be focusing more on the latter option for celebrating the occasion.

Some of the St. Patrick's Day themed events taking place in Middle Georgia this year include the interesting events below.

MONDAY, MARCH 13TH THROUGH FRIDAY, MARCH 17TH

Indian Springs State Park is hosting a St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt. Participants will attempt to solve riddles and find lucky leprechauns hidden in the park for a chance to win a prize. The clue sheet for the scavenger hunt can be found in the Indian Springs State Park's visitor center.
