This week will likely be another hot one in Middle Georgia so thankfully there are many events taking place inside or during the cooler hours in the evening. There will be a fun storytelling event from Storyteller's Macon on Tuesday, a "french fry fight" between 20 restaurants in Downtown Macon on Thursday, and a lot of other unique happenings as well.
MONDAY, JULY 10
Mutt’s and Margaritas at Main St. Bar in Perry (6 - 8 p.m.)
It doesn’t seem fair sometimes that man’s best friend has to stay home while his human is out having fun. This event by Millie’s Treats will take place at Main St. Bar and is for humans who want their dogs to have some fun out on the night too: both margaritas and barkaritas will be served.

TUESDAY, JULY 11
La Bella Morelia 6th Anniversary Street Block Party in Downtown Macon (3 p.m.)
La Bella Morelia is a Mexican taqueria located in downtown that will be celebrating 6 years of serving delicious, hot food to Middle Georgians this Tuesday. Some of Mulberry Street will be closed and tacos, mangonadas, elotes, and fruta will be served and DJ Kiké will serve the music.

Storyteller’s Macon presents “When Sparks Fly” at Grant’s Lounge (6:30 p.m.)
Storyteller’s Macon will be back at Grant’s Lounge this Tuesday and the theme will be “When Sparks Fly”. Featured storyteller Najiva Timothee as well as other storytellers (including those from the audience who sign up beforehand) will tell short, true stories about situations ranging from love to fights that create “sparks”. This unique storytelling event is free to attend and participate in.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 12
Wheeling Wednesdays at Fall Line Brewing Co. (4 - 10 p.m.)
Fall Line Brewing Co. will be serving cold glasses full of “Old Man from Ohio” every Wednesday in July. A portion of all the proceeds will then be donated to Bike Walk Macon, whose mission is to make our community a friendlier place for bicyclists and walkers of all ages.

THURSDAY, JULY 13
Downtown Macon French Fry Fight (5 p.m.)
Twenty different restaurants will compete to be voted as the Fry Champion this Thursday to celebrate National French Fry Day. Participating eateries include Baldino’s (cheesesteak fries), Bearfoot Tavern (Bearfoot loaded fries), Biddy’s (Maui Wowi Fries), Fall Line Brewing Co. (Fully Loaded Fry Basket), Felicia’s Cake Factory (sugar cookie fries), La Bella Morelia (peurco fries), Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen (breakfast fries), and many more.

FRIDAY, JULY 14
Soul Sights Van Tour in Macon (11 a.m. - 12 p.m.)
Macon has a long history connected to music and other “soulful” pursuits. Visit Macon will be presenting guided tours on Fridays and Saturdays that visit both “architectural masterpieces to the places that inspired musical legends” this Friday. Adult tickets are $8, tickets for children are $7, and there are special rates for seniors, military members, and Macon residents.

Ocmulgee Artist Guild’s Art Show Euphoria: Bazaar (6 - 11:59 p.m.)
The Ocmulgee Artist Guild (OAG) will be presenting another one-of-a-kind art show this Friday night in Downtown Macon. This event will be one part fine art exhibit and one part art party. More than one dozen OAG artists will be showcasing their artworks along with some art from other local artists. Euphoria: Bazaar will “showcase notions of rhythm and pattern in culture, street-style art, and a postmodern psychedelic atmosphere”.

Super Mario Bros Trivia and Cosplay at Reboot Retrocade & Bar (9 p.m.)
Reboot Retrocade & Bar and Talk Nerdy To Me will present a night of Super Mario Bros Trivia and a cosplay contest. Signup starts at 8:30 p.m. and participants must be 18 and older to attend.

Farmers Market in Centerville (9 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
The Farmers Market will feature items from local farmers, artisans, and bakers and takes place the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month.

Middle Georgia Comic Convention at the Anderson Conference Center (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
This family-friendly event is billed as the “biggest comic and toy show in Middle Georgia”. Expect cosplaying and plenty of comics, toys, and other colorful items for sale. Admission is $7 and children 12 and under receive free entry with an adult admission.

Cosplay Weekend at Hello Boba Cafe (12 - 5 p.m.)
Hello Boba is a boba cafe located in Downtown Macon and they will be having a two day cosplay event this Saturday and Sunday. Customers who dress up as a character will receive 50% off of their drinks.

Recreation of Summer Jam at Watkins Glen at The Society Garden (3 p.m.)
This event will be a recreation of the famous Summer Jam at Watkins Glen show of 1973 that featured The Band, The Grateful Dead, and The Allman Brothers Band. Dave Cole’s All Stars will perform a tribute show as The Band, Direwolf will perform a tribute to The Grateful Dead, and The Restless Natives will perform a tribute performance as The Allman Brothers Band. Tickets are $20 online and will cost $25 at the door.

ROAD TRIP: “Bad Company” Experience at the Griffin Opera House (8 p.m.)
Bad Co. Experience is a tribute band who seek to recreate hits from the band Bad Company. Three of the members of the band (Paul Downey, Jim Withrow, and Chris Brake) are all also members of other rock tribute bands so you know they know how to rock and roll. Balcony seat tickets are $20 and theater seating seats are $27.75 online.

National Ice Cream Day at Monkey Joe’s in Warner Robins (12 - 6 p.m.)
Monkey Joe’s is an indoor playground in Warner Robins that will be celebrating National Ice Cream Day this coming Sunday. Both children and adults who come by Monkey Joe’s on Sunday will receive a free bowl of ice cream and access to a free toppings bar as well. Tickets to attend Monkey Joe’s on Sunday cost $10.99.
