Fun and Interesting Events Taking Place in Middle Georgia this Week

Whether you want to start your week off with some entertaining games at Rigby's, have a peaceful night out with the ladies at The Society Garden, or laugh it up at an evening of open mic comedy at Reboot, there are a large variety of things to do for all interests in Macon and Middle Georgia this week. The following are just a few of the events scheduled to take place during the last full week of August.

MONDAY, AUGUST 21

Unlimited Play Mondays at Rigby’s in Warner Robins (4 - 10 p.m.)

Rigby’s Entertainment Complex offers Unlimited Play Mondays for those who want to start the week off with some fun. You can either get unlimited skating, bowling, laser tag, mini golf, and billiard (for patrons 21 years old and older) or unlimited arcade play on green swipers for $25.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 22

Tuesday Trivia with Giff at Friends on the HILL in Warner Robins (8:30 p.m.)

Trivia with Giff is a Tuesday tradition for patrons of Friends on the HILL. Giff will present three rounds of questions as well as a bonus round where you can wager your points like on a game show. Trivia with Giff is free to play, signup is at 8 p.m. and the event starts at 8:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 23

Entrepreneur’s Happy Hour at Just Tap’d (5 - 6:30 p.m.)

Startup Macon is hosting another Entrepreneur's Happy Hour at Just Tap’d this Wednesday. Small business owners and enterprenuers will meet for networking and learning from their peers. They will also receive a complimentary beer courtesy of Startup Macon. Learn more about events from Startup Macon on their website.

Bingo at The Society Garden (6 - 8 p.m.)

The multi-talented Christina Leon hosts free bingo games at The Society Garden on Wednesdays. If you haven’t been to The Society Garden, you might be surprised to find all the ways it has changed, including with a new Italian street food restaurant, Liliana’s, located at the venue.

End of Summer Sunset Perry Pub Crawl in Perry (6 - 9 p.m.)

This event is for adults 21 years and up who are looking to end with summer with a visit to some of the fine drinking establishments in Perry. There will be 7 participating locations: Clover Wine Merchant, Oliver Perry’s, Patio 901, Bodega Brew, The Muse, ‘Orleans on Carroll, and Main St. Bar. Check in will take place in The Muse’s parking lot and there will be drawings and prizes given out at Main Street at the end of the event. Tickets to the End of Summer Sunset Perry Pub Crawl cost $10 online.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 24

Reclaiming Ladies Night at The Society Garden (6:30 p.m.)

Reclaiming Ladies Night is billed as a “night of healing through art and sound” will include a guided embroidery workshop from artist Sam Wolf, music from Marie Ortiz, and complimentary herbal elixirs from chef Chelsea Breann served in a special tea ceremony. Tickets to Reclaiming Ladies Night are $50 online.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 25

Bolingbroke Summerfest at Bolingbroke Antiques & Mercantile (5 - 8 p.m.)

Vintage Coffee & Confections and Bolingbroke Antiques & Mercantiles presents the Bolingbroke Summerfest this Friday and Saturday. There will be more than 50 independent vendor booths selling items at this annual event and Friday is also Pet Day Out where shoppers are encouraged to bring their furry family members.

Artist Talk and Studio Tour at The 567 Center for Renewal (5 - 6:30 p.m.)

Artist Eric O’Dell will give a lecture on the closing day of the exhibit of O’Dell’s creative artwork called “Piece Work”. O’Dell will talk to gallery goers about “the stories and process” behind his paintings and then lead attendees to his studio a short distance away from The 567. This event is free to the public.

ROAD TRIP: Dueling Pianos at the Tipsy Daisy in Griffin (8 p.m.)

The Tipsy Daisy in Griffin is hosting a request based dueling pianos show this Friday. The Tipsy Daisy’s Happy Hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. and patrons get in free before 6 p.m. (the cover charge after that is $10). This show is for those 21 years old and older.

Lake Country Lanes Bowling Alley Grand Re-Opening in Milledgeville (4 p.m.)

The Milledgeville-Baldwin Chamber of Commerce will host the Lake Country Lanes Bowling Alley Grand Re-Opening this Friday. The bowling alley has been recently renovated and now features a new Strikers Lounge and Sports Bar, plenty of televisions to watch sports, pool tables, and more.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 26

Yoga on the Lawn in Perry (9 a.m.)

The City of Perry is inviting the public to come stretch and relax with a free all-levels yoga class on Saturday morning. Attendees are encouraged to bring water and a yoga mat or beach towel and get ready to experience some of the many benefits of yoga practice at the new Perry City Hall.

2023 Butts Aglow with Hot Air Balloons at The Rivers Ranch in Jackson (7 - 11 p.m.)

The Butts County Chamber of Commerce presents a night of “hot air balloon glow” that will feature food and craft vendors, live music from the band “Contagious”, and tethered hot air balloons (if the weather cooperates). No coolers or pets are allowed at this family-friendly event. Hot air balloon rides will cost $20 per person for 5 minutes. Butts Aglow parking passes cost $55 for early birds and tables for 10 cost $550 (guests who do not wish to reserve tables can bring blankets or camping chairs).

Open Mic Comedy: The Roast of Tucker Andrews at Reboot Retrocade & Bar (9 p.m.)

Tucker Andrews has thick skin and will prove it the Saturday at his roast (where his comedic peers will make jokes at Andrews’ expense). Middle Georgian comedian Tall Trey will host this free event for comedy lovers 18 years old and older. The set list is released at 8:30 p.m. so show up early if you want to sign up to tell jokes.

 - Reboot Retrocade & Bar - 566 Cherry Street, Macon

Come on Barbie Let’s Go Dance Party at the Capitol Theatre (9 p.m.)

This event is for lovers of all things Barbie and will include DJs, plenty of colorful lights, and music to get the crowd dancing. Court of Miracles will be on hand creating live art and there will also be face painting by Artichoke Joke. Tickets to the Come on Barbie Let’s Go Dance Party cost $15.

Interstellar Echoes: A Tribute to Pink Floyd at The Society Garden (9 - 11:30 p.m.)

Interstellar Echoes is a Pink Floyd tribute band that does their best to accurately recreate the Pink Floyd sound and concert experience. Tickets to see Interstellar Echoes this Saturday cost $15.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 27

Play Streets Macon in the Historic Greenwood Bottom (2 - 5 p.m.)

Play Streets Macon is hosting another afternoon of community outdoor fun this Sunday, this time in historic Greenwood Bottom. Play Streets Macon turns normally busy streets into places where families and the rest of the community can play and take part in fun activites such as sidewalk chalk art, lawn games, and more. This free event will include music and entertainment, including from the Douglass Theatre and Greater Turner Tabernacle AME Church..
