Live Music Spotlight in Macon and Middle Georgia this Week

This week in Middle Georgia there will be chances to be a karaoke star at JBA and Billy's Clubhouse, an out of this world performance from Truffelina, The Cradle, and ClarkafterDark, and much more. The following are just a few of the music venues in the heart of Georgia where you can hear live music in the next few days.


THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14

ALEX STONE AND THE TUESDAY HANGOVERS AT GRANT’S LOUNGE (9 P.M.)

Alex Stone and the Tuesday Hangovers will play at Grant’s Lounge on Thursday night. Alex Stone is also a member of the Middle Georgia funk band The Woofs. Tickets to see this show cost $10 on seetickets.us or at the door.

KARAOKE WITH DJ WILLIE D AT JBA (9 P.M.)

The one and only Willie D will be hosting an evening of karaoke at JBA on Thursday night. While the karaoke performances start at 9 p.m., patrons can show up earlier to make sure to get a chance to sign up to sing your own karaoke masterpiece and JBA's classy lounge opens at 6 p.m. 


FRIDAY, DECEMBER 15

ROAD TRIP: HOT ROD WALT AT FOX CITY BREWING IN FORSYTH (7 P.M.)

Hot Rod Walt will be playing an acoustic set of rockabilly, Americana, and honky tonk music at Fox City Brewing on Friday night. There is no cover charge at Fox City Brewing.

When not playing acoustic sets, Hot Rod Walt can be found rocking out with The Psycho DeVilles 

LATIN CHRISTMAS WITH THE RITMO SOUL BUNCH AT KUDZU SEAFOOD COMPANY (7 P.M.)

The Latin fusion band The Ritmo Soul will be performing a Latin Christmas show at Kudzu Seafood Company on Friday. There is no cover charge at Kudzu.

J. SCOTT THOMPSON CHRISTMAS CONCERT AT THE SOCIETY GARDEN (8 P.M.)

J. Scott Thompson and his band will be performing everything from classic Christmas songs to festive original music. The band will include a full horn section. There will also be hot toddies and other themed specialty drinks. The Society Garden will charge a $15 cover starting at 7 p.m. for this show.

TRUFFELINA WITH THE CRADLE AND CLARKAFTERDARK AT JBA (10 P.M.)

Fresh Produce presents a show from Truffelina with The Crade and ClarkAfterDark at this show on Friday night. This show should be out of this world as it is billed as a “cosmic night of interstellar musical elevation”.

THE LEVI DE VILLE BAND AT BILLY’S CLUBHOUSE (10 P.M.)

The Levi De Ville Band will bring their unique blues-rock sound to Billy’s Clubhouse late Friday night. There is no cover at Billy’s Clubhouse.



SATURDAY, DECEMBER 16

MACON METAL FEST WITH SUGAR VIRUS, MONSTER PARTY, DRAGON SLEEPER, SEPTARIAN, AND 9 OTHER BANDS AT THE MACON ARTS CENTER (2 P.M.)

The Macon Metal Fest will include heavy metal music from Sugar Virus, Monster Party, Septhrian, Tombstone Blue, Murder Van, Evil Intent, Night Howler, Dead Hand, Sister Sandoz, Low Frequency Messiah, Krimson Karrie, and Sliced. The gates open at noon and the show starts at 2 p.m. There will be a $20 cover charge for this show.

QUITTMAN ALEXANDER AT APT. 77 LOUNGE (7 P.M.)

Apt. 77 Lounge presents Live Band Saturdays this Saturday featuring Quittman Alexandar. Make sure you bring your dancing shoes for this show as the band aims to get the audience moving.

THE BROKEN HEARTS (TOM PETTY TRIBUTE BAND) AT THE CAPITOL THEATRE (8 P.M.)

The Broken Hearts band was created after the passing of Tom Petty in 2017 by a former member of Tom Petty and Mudcrutch, Charlie Souza, and singer/songwriter Shawn Scheller. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts a 8 p.m. Tickets start at $15 on seetickets.us.

BUFFALO NICHOLS AT THE SOCIETY GARDEN (8 P.M.)

Buffalo Nichols is a blues musician whose goal is to bring the “blues of the past” into our current age by mixing it with more modern music. Nichols's latest album is titled The Fatalist and is on Fat Possum Records. Tickets to see Buffalo Nichols cost $15 on eventbrite.com.

THE RELICS AT JBA (10 P.M.)

The Atlanta rock and roll band The Relics will be playing in Downtown Macon’s JBA late Saturday night. The band’s newest release is “Shadows”. Tickets to see The Relics live cost $10 for patrons 18 to 20 years old and $5 for patrons 21 years old and up on JBA’s website.

THE BEARCATS AT THE HUMMINGBIRD (10 P.M.)

The alternative rock group The Bearcats is on the prowl again and will be performing at The Hummingbird Stage & Taproom. There will be a $5 cover charge for this show.

BLUE AT BILLY’S CLUBHOUSE (10 P.M.)

The band Blue will be back at Billy’s Clubhouse for a night of “emo and pop punk hits”. Billy’s Clubhouse never has a cover.


SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17

JERRY AT MACON CITY COLISEUM (6:30 P.M.)

Jerry will be performing at the Macon City Auditorium on Sunday evening. Tickets to see Jerry perform start at $60 on ticketmaster.com.

DJ CUSTOM AT BILLY’S CLUBHOUSE'S SUNDAY NIGHT KARAOKE (8 P.M.)

DJ Custom will be hosting a night of karaoke at North Macon's Billy's Clubhouse on Sunday night. There is no cover at Billy's.
