Another week is ahead of us, which for many of us means work and maybe a bit too much stress. Thankfully, there are plenty of events to help you get your mind off of work, most of which are free or inexpensive. The following are just a few of the fun things to do in the heart of Georgia from Monday, September 16th through Thursday, September 19th.


MONDAY, September 16th

Monday Night Football at Grant’s Lounge (7 p.m.)

Join other Middle Georgia football lovers at the historic Grant’s Lounge on Monday, presented by CMD Entertainment & Friends. There will be food and drink specials for this event, and it is free to attend.

TUESDAY, September 17th

Walk ’n’ Talk: Black Heritage Trail with Macon200 (6-7:30 p.m.)

Bike Walk Macon and Macon200 will present this unique event to learn about the history of Macon while visiting the new historical markers placed by the Macon200 Bicentennial Committee. This educational tour will take one hour and will proceed at an easy pace, according to the organizers. Future tours will continue on the third Tuesday of each month, with a special guest guide speaking on specific topics for each tour.

Fabian Concert Series at Fickling Hall (7:30 p.m.)

The Robert McDuffie Center for Strings and Mercer University’s Townsend School of Music will present another concert in the Fabian Concert Series this Tuesday. Attendees will hear chamber music performed by skilled professionals at these concerts. Tickets cost $20 for adults, and entry is free for students with student identification.

WEDNESDAY, September 18th

Wine & Words Wednesdays at Kinjos Kitchen + Cocktails(5-9:30 p.m.)

Wine & Words Wednesdays is a unique event for book lovers and foodies that combines Kinjo’s small plates, handpicked wines, and a cozy place to enjoy your favorite book and meet other fellow bibliophiles and the people who love them (and make room for their massive collections of books).

THURSDAY, September 19th

Food Truck Roundup “Team Spirit” at Perkins Ball Field in Warner Robins (5-9 p.m.)

The theme for this Food Truck Roundup will be team spirit. Guests are encouraged to wear their team colors and sample some of the foods from the twenty-five food trucks that are expected to be on hand. There will also be live music and a kids' zone. This family-friendly event is free to attend.
