ASTRONOMY FORECAST
The Flower Moon, which is also a Micromoon, will appear on Friday, May 1st. A Micromoon is the opposite of a Supermoon, and occurs when a Full or New Moon occurs at the point when the Moon's orbit is farthest from our planet. The Flower Moon, which has been attributed to the Algonquin peoples, was given its name because of the many flowers that bloom in North America during the month of May. This moon is also called the Budding Moon and Leaf Budding Moon (Cree) and the Planting Moon (Dakota, Lakota). The Farmer's Almanac says that May 1st through 12th and 26th through 31st are the best days for fishing, while May 1st, 2nd, 29th, and 30th are best for planting above-ground crops, and May 20th and 21st are best for planting below-ground crops.
