"The Color Purple" will be played on the big screen at The Grand Opera House in downtown Macon as the first film of The Grand's 2022 Film Series.

This moving and historical 1985 film stars Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg, and other major Hollywood stars in a story about survival and faith.

Oprah Winfrey and other well-known stars were part of some of the recent filming of "The Color Purple" musical filmed in various locations in downtown Macon recently.
