ROAD TRIP: 46th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival in Piedmont Park (3/27 - 3/29)

The 46th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival is a free celebration of music, culture, and jazz taking place over three days at the end of May this year.

The Atlanta Jazz Festival will take place in Piedmont Park from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. from Friday, May 26th through Sunday, May 28th with live music starting at 1 p.m. each day.

The Atlanta Jazz Festival will also kick off with "The Apollo’s Production of Blues and Its People," featuring Russell Gunn and his 26-piece Royal Krunk Jazz Orkestra at Atlanta Symphony Hall at 8 pm on Friday, May 26th. This musical event will include jazz, gospel, and blues and feature Jazzmeia Horn, Warren Wolf, Leon Timbo, Jessica Care Moore, Miles Griffith, Weedie Braimah, and Amber Iman. Tickets for "The Apollo's Production of Blues and Its People" start at $59 on Ticketmaster.com.

Friday's performances will include Lakecia Benjamin (1 p.m.), Tony Hightower (3 p.m.), David Sanchez (5 p.m.), Samara Joy (7 p.m.), and Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis (9 p.m.).

Saturday's performances will include 1 pm - Sélène Saint-Aimé (1 p.m.), Brandee Younger (3 p.m.), Javon Jackson and The Gospel According to Nikki Giovanni (5 p.m.), Jose James (7 p.m.), and Stanley Clarke (9 p.m.).

Sunday's performances include Satya (1 p.m.), James Frances (2 p.m.), Brenda Nicole Moorer (5 p.m.), Chief Xian Atunde Adjuah (formerly Christain Scoot) (7 p.m.), and Ledisi (9 p.m.).
