Visit Macon's Great Macon Baking Week celebrates delicious baked goods and those who bake them and will bring a baking competition to Middle Georgia similar to the popular The Great British Bake Off reality show. The competition starts on Sunday, July 23rd and ends a week later on Sunday, July 30th.

Fifteen Macon restaurant and bakeries will be competing to create the most impressive and delicious baked goods.

You can help decide who will win the title of Central City Bake Off Champion by grabbing a Great Macon Baking Week passport from any of the participating restaurants/bakeries, the Downtown Visitor Center, or at the Macon Arts Alliance.

Those who visit at least 5 of the participating businesses will receive some Macon Baking Week swag and the true foodies who visit all 16 restaurants will receive a unique award "that will give you full bragging rights", according to the organizers.

Once you have had the Great Macon Baking Week passport stamped by the participating businesses you choose to visit, take it to the Downtown Visitor Center from July 23rd through 29th during their normal business hours (Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) to claim your prize.

Participating restaurants/bakeries in the Great Macon Baking Week (and some of their "showstoppers) are Dawson's Kitchen (Wedding Cookies), Rookery (Christmas Tree Cheesecake), Layers (Signature White Velvet Cake), Macon Bagels (Pizza Bagels), Felicia's Cake Factory (Cupcakes: Chocolate Peanut Butter, Strawberry Crunch, Red Velvet, Alcohol-infused Hennesey & Pina Colada), Tommy's Bakery (Maple Bacon Donut), Satterfield's (Smoked Seasonal Fruit Crisp), Acres & Oaks (Petit Fors - Mini cakes coated in sweet almond glaze), Natalia's (Ms. Carolyn's Chocolate Coffee Toffee Tart), Pearl Passionate Cuisine & Cocktails (Irish Cheesecake), Kinjo Kitchen & Cocktails (Black Sesame Snickers Cheesecake), Bear's Den (Banana Pudding), Loom (Mini Cheesecakes Trio - Spumoni, Peach Cobbler, Bourban Caramel Flavors), Dovetail (Chocolate Pecan Pie), Yollah (Cheesecake Empandadas), and Oh Honey (Pistachio Italian Macaron with Browned Butter Buttercream & White Chocolate Ganache).

The finale event of the Great Macon Baking Week is called the Central City Bake-Off and will feature a dramatic competition between the baked goods of various hobby and cottage food bakers. The winner of the Great Macon Baking week will also be announced during this event.

20 bakers will create a "show-stopper" baked good for the finale event and they will also have samples for attendees to try out. General Admission tickets to the Central City Bake Off cost $10.

The Central City Bake-Off  will take place at the Mill Hill Community Arts Center on Sunday, July 3oth from 4 to 6 p.m.
