Celebrate Galentines Day, Valentine's Day, or even Anti-Valentine's Day This Year
Fans of the television show Parks and Recreation will recognize Galentine's Day as having come from the comedy show to describe a party Leslie (played by Amy Poehler) throws for her female friends. This year there will be multiple Galentine's day events as well as more romantic events (and one event for those who aren't fans of the sappiness of Valentine's Day at all).
Friday, February 9th
Artspace Macon will host a Galentine’s Sweet or Spicy Card-Making Art Night starting at 6:30 p.m. Those who attend will be invited to create either sweet or spicy Valentine’s Day cards, take a picture with a selfie wall, do crafts, and more. Tickets to this event cost $25 on Artspace Macon’s website.
The 27th Annual Father Daughter Dance: A Night in Wonderland will take place at the Museum of Arts and Sciences from 7 to 9 p.m. DJ Laura Starling of the WDEN Early Morning Crew will keep the dancers moving and there will be raffle prizes, crafts, and a photo booth as well. Attendees will also get access to the museum’s Discovery House and Museum Store. Tickets to the dance cost $20.50 for fathers and $20.50 for the first daughter, with tickets for additional daughters costing $5 each on eventbrite.com.
6th Annual Valentine’s Trivia at Reboot Retrocade & Bar starting at 9 p.m. is an adult-themed trivia event for the 18 and older crowd. It is free to play and there will be themed drinks to purchase and prizes for winners of the trivia.
Saturday, February 10th
Rollin Romance will take place at Harley-Davidson Macon from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. This event will include “free food, ice-cold drinks, and a special cocktail” for Valentine’s Day.
Tasty Prayer..the Cookie Bar in Warner Robins will host a Valentine’s Date Night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This event will feature a lesson about the “art of pairing wine with desserts” and include chocolate-covered strawberries and wine pairings. Tickets cost $30 online.
Philosophie Wine Bar’s Galentines Wine & Tapas Dinner with Cast Iron Catering will take place from 7 until 10 p.m. The event will feature a “Galentine’s charcuterie platter”, tapas including “fritters, ceviche, and lollipop lamb chops”, as well as wines especially selected, as well as a Chocolate Wine Flight to end the experience. Tickets to this Galentines event cost $75 online.
Georgia College’s Max Noah Singers will present a Valentine’s Day Rendezvous at the Magnolia Ballroom in Milledgeville starting at 7:30 p.m. The performers will sing love songs from artists like Cole Porter as well as Broadway hits. This is a free show though a $5 donation is encouraged.
Sunday, February 10th
Fall Line Brewing Co. will host a Valentine’s Market from 1 to 5 p.m. Multiple vendors from Middle Georgia will be selling everything from sweets to romantic items for Valentine’s Day gifts.

Tuesday, February 13th
There will be a unique Galentine’s Day Custom Hat Workshop at Burke Mansion in Macon from 6 to 9 p.m. The hat-making workshop will be led by Rox + Ren Co. There will be wine and a “curated cocktail hour” and attendees will take home a “one-of-a-kind hat” that they make with their own hands. Tickets to the Burke’s Mansion’s Galentine’s Day Custom Hat Workshop cost $175 online.
Storytellers Macon will present “Vibrationships” at Grant’s Lounge from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This night of storytelling will feature true stories about the people in the storytellers’ lives who they “just vibe with.” The featured storyteller for the evening will be prolific professional photographer DSTO Moore. Wednesday, February 14th
The Brick Macon will present the anti-Valentine’s Day event Love Drunk: A very Un-Valentine’s Bash starting at 5 p.m. Attendees can receive a free “$&@!Cupid” shot if they bring a picture of their ex to shred, there will be an Unvalentines Cocktail list, DJ Hello will be playing “break up and independence songs”, and there will be .79 wings until 10 p.m.
Thursday, February 15th
Finally, Lights and Love Songs - Music on Macon Streets will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. This event will feature “a romantic evening of Love Songs and historic architecture” on High Street. The Macon Music Revue with special guest Sam Stephens will provide free live music at this romantic event.
