This weekend the animated, feel-good movie "Trolls Band Together" will be projected for visitors to Carolyn Crayton Park, bands will take to stages all around Macon and greater Middle Georgia, and Otis Music Camp attendees will show all they learned during the two-week music camp at the grand finale performance at the Grand Opera House. The following are just a few of the entertaining things going on this weekend.
FRIDAY, June 14th
LIVE AT FIVE IN PERRY (5-7 p.m.)
Live in Five is an event from the Perry Main Street Board that features live music from different artists performing on the streets of Downtown Perry. This Friday, Brooke Rhodes will be the artist filling the air with the sounds of music. Connor Henderson will perform on June 28th and Damon Brown is scheduled to perform on July 12th with other artists to be announced. Live at Five is a free, family-friendly event.
FREE FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT: "TROLLS BAND TOGETHER" AT CAROLYN CRAYTON PARK (7:30 p.m.)
The animated movie “Trolls Band Together” (2023) will be screened by the Macon Bibb County Recreation Department this Friday night. There will be complimentary popcorn served. Attendees can bring their tents, blankets, and chairs to this free event.
THE SHAELYN BAND AT GRANT’S LOUNGE (9 p.m.)
Grant’s historic stage will once more host talented musicians this Friday when The Shaelyn Band comes to Macon. The Shaelyn Band is a souls, blues, funk, and rock band that features singer/poet Shaelyn “Shae” Mulberry. The band released their first, self-titled album in 2022 and recently released their second album “Juke Joint”. Tickets to see The Shaelyn Band live cost $10 at the door or online at this link.
RECKLESS SOUL AT 20’S PUB (9 p.m.)
Reckless Soul will be playing country, southern rock, and blues music at 20’s Pub Friday night. Reckless Soul is a four piece band that often play outside of Macon in towns like Vidalia, Bonaire, and Milledgeville.
SMOKEY JONES AND THE $3 PISTOLS AT THE HUMMINGBIRD (10 p.m.)
Country music band Smokey Jones and the $3 Pistols will perform at the Hummingbird late into the night on Friday. The cover charge for the evening will be $5 at the door.
JERRY GRANT & THE CORRUPTERS AT BILLY’S CLUBHOUSE (10 p.m.)
Jerry Grant & the Corruptors’s music is described as “whiskey soaked rockin’ blues”. As usual, there is no cover charge at Billy’s Clubhouse.
SATURDAY, June 15TH
OTIS MUSIC CAMP FINALE PERFORMANCE (7 p.m.)
Every year, the Otis Redding Foundation hosts Otis Music Camp, where summer campers up to the age 18 come together to learn about the art of making music, the business of the music industry, and working together to create something beautiful. At this free finale performance, the campers will debut their brand new original song that was written during the two weeks of the camp. While this is a free event, the Otis Redding Foundation relies on donations in order to bring programs like the Otis Music Camp to Middle Georgia’s young people.
MACON MUSIC LIVE PRESENTS TIGER COUNTY REGULATORS AT THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND MUSEUM (7 - 9 p.m.)
The Tiger County Regulators is a band from Atlanta whose music is inspired by great rock, blues, funk, and soul musicians of the past. This will be a free concert but The Big House, with all its one-of-a-kind historical artifacts, appreciates donations to help with upkeep of the museum.

MACON PRIDE: GEORGIA ICONS WITH PHOENIX AT THE CAPITOL THEATRE (8 p.m.)
This event is presented by Macon Pride and will feature performances from some of Georgia’s most well known drag performers including Christina Leon and Yutoya Leon of Macon, Shaun Loreal Kennedy (who was crowned Mx. Macon Pride last year), Cola Fizz and Karmella Machiatto from Athens, Ella/Suaras/Rex and Cici Nicole from Atlanta, and Extasy Grey. The event will also feature a special guest, Phoenix from season 3 of Rupaul’s Drag Race. Tickets cost $15 online at this link.
BRVNDO AT JBA (10 p.m.)
Electronic musician Brvnd0 will be back performing at Downtown Macon’s JBA late Saturday night. The musician recently released the single “We Outside” earlier this year.
2 FINGER JESTER AT THE HUMMINGBIRD (10 p.m. - 2 a.m.)
The Warner Robins based band 2 Finger Jester has been performing hard and classic rock music at The Hummingbird for almost two decades, and elsewhere for almost 25 years. 2 Finger Jester have declared this their final year of performing and will be recreating the excitement of 80’s music from Poison, Motley Crue, and more at this concert. There will be a $5 cover charge at the door for this show.
