MONDAY, July 28th

Glassy Days: Weekday Glassblowing Experiences at stARTup Studios (12-5 p.m.)

stARTup Studios is offering personal 30-minute glassblowing sessions for one person and an item during weekdays. Available projects include a paperweight, rose, ornament, bird, and more, with pricing varying by project. This workshop is for participants 12 and older. Bliss in the Belltower III: Rise (6 p.m.)

The third Bliss in the Belltower will take place at Court of Miracles’ The Belltower Collective on Monday evening. This event will include a fire cider tasting ritual, candle mantras, breathwork, journaling, reflection, ecstatic dance, a fire circle, and more. Tummy Time Tribe with Loving Arms Family Support (10-11 a.m.)

WEDNESDAY, July 30th

Grand Opening of Shuster's Candy & Creamery (4-7 p.m.)

The newest place to satisfy your sweet tooth in Downtown Macon will have its Grand Opening celebration on Wednesday. The first 10 customers will receive a free scoop of ice cream (they offer 24 flavors), a face painter will be decorating smiling faces, and Shuster's will be giving out free samples for curious patrons. The Grand Opening ribbon cutting will take place at 4:15 p.m. at this family-friendly event.

Wednesday After-Work Weeding at the Native Plant Garden and Monarch Waystation in Amerson River Park (6-7 p.m.)

Scientific studies have shown that gardening can help our health and well-being. This Wednesday, the Fringed Campion Chapter of the Georgia Native Plant Society invites the public (12 years and older) to get a little dirty at Amerson River Park while helping to weed the park’s Native plant Garden and Monarch Waystation. This healthy event is free to attend.

THURSDAY, July 31st

SPORTS: Christmas in July with the Macon Bacon (Macon Bacon vs. Florence Flamingos at Luther Williams Field (7 p.m.)

The Macon Bacon take on the Florence Flamingos on Thursday while celebrating Christmas a bit early with Christmas music, themed fanfare, and baseball cheer. This is going to be a night full of Holiday Cheer and Christmas carols to get you out of any humbug mood this summer heat might have caused. This game is also the next to the last game of the Macon Bacon’s 2024-2025 season. Tickets to this game start at $15 online at this link.

TRIVIA: Trivia and Tacos at The Society Garden (7-10 p.m.)

On Thursday, people bring their smart friend to The Society Garden for Trivia & Tacos night. Enjoy El Amigo’s Mexican dinner offerings while teams compete for trivia bragging rights in a relaxed beer garden setting.

FRIDAY, August 1st

FOOD: Main Street Market in Forsyth (9 a.m.-5 p.m.)

Every Friday through October, the Forsyth Main Street Market brings fresh produce, honey, artisan soaps, handmade crafts, and more to Downtown Forsyth. It’s the perfect way to shop local while enjoying Forsyth’s quaint downtown area.

2025 Bibb Back to School Bash-Drive Through (9-11:30 a.m.)

The Bibb County School District hosts its annual PBIS Back-to-School Bash at Ed Defore Sports Complex this Friday. Families can drive through to pick up free school supplies, uniform shirts, and access community resources at no cost. This free program is designed to help reduce absences when school starts back.

August First Friday in Downtown Macon (5-11:45 p.m.)

Downtown Macon comes alive every First Friday of the month with art crawls, gallery openings, scavenger hunts, live music, and more. The following are a few of the special events taking place during August’s First Friday:

  - Art Crawl & The Great Art Hunt — Head to First and Poplar to get your map and passport for gallery visits and The Great Art Hunt that benefits The 567 Center. Completing all 30 stops qualifies you for a chance to win a weekend Macon getaway package.

  - Gallery Openings — Check out new ceramic exhibits at Macon Arts Alliance, 3D artwork at The 567 Center, multi-artist pop-ups at Sheridan Studios, and more at Downtown Macon art galleries like the McEachern Center, Gallery West, Lore Gallery, and others.

  - Live Music — From Fiona Butler and Seth Moreira at Sheridan Studios (6-9 p.m.) to new wave and ska at The Bird with The Stepmoms, Left Hand Hotdog, and Analog Daydream (9:30 p.m.-2:00 a.m.), downtown will be filled with the sound of live music this Friday.

  - Downtown Retail — Sweet Eleanor’s, Rabbit Hole, The Bohemian Den and other local shops will keep doors open late for visitors seeking adventure and fun during August’s First Friday. Longleaf Distillery will also offer “Appy Hour” (4-7 p.m.) where patrons can get the snack of the month for half off.

  - Trivia & Fandom — Boba Cafe will host a free Genshin Impact trivia night with themed prizes during August's First Friday.

  - Dancing — There will be a Geeks and Freaks Dance Party at Reboot Retrocade & Bar (9 p.m.) with DJ B3 providing the tunes for the 18 and up crowd. This event is free to attend.

First Friday Classic Car Show in Milledgeville (6-8 p.m.)

There will be a First Friday Class Car Show in Milledgeville this Friday. The Old Capital Car Club will showcase shiny classic cars while visitors enjoy live entertainment and late hours from downtown retailers. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

MUSIC: Lady Creech & The Main Street Band at Gordon Grooves Summer Concert Series in Barnesville (6-9 p.m.)

Gordon State College is presenting a concert from Lady Creech and The Main Street Band as part of the Gordon Grooves Summer Concert Series. This family-friendly event features live music, tasty food from various food trucks, free admission, and open lawn seating.

MUSIC: Thomas Guest and the TG Band at The Society Garden (8-10 p.m.)

Thomas Guest and the TG band will be playing their first show at The Society Garden this Friday night. Patrons will enjoy an evening of country music and maybe even hear Guest’s newest song “Mystery Girl,” which is set to be released on August 8th. There will likely be a cover charge at the gate to help support the musicians.

TRIVIA: Harry Potter’s 45th Birthday Trivia and Cosplay at The Brick Macon (8 p.m.)

The beloved Harry Potter was born long ago on July 31st, 1980, in a fictional universe that has enthralled millions of fans. The enemy of He Who Shall Not be Name is turning 45 this Friday and The Brick will host a Harry Potter Birthday Party from Talk Nerdy to Met that will include trivia and a costume contest to celebrate. Guests will have a chance to try some Hogwart’s themed drinks and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 trivia team and costume contest winners. There is no charge to attend this event.
