This weekend, there will be lots of Halloween celebrations, several unique festivals, including the 18th Annual Central Georgia Greek Festival, the 22nd Annual Jazz & Arts on Riverdale, and Oc-TOBO-Fest, the opening game of the Macon Mayhem hockey teams 2025-2026 season, a night of KPop Demon Hunters-themed roller derby in Gray, and much, much more. The following are just a few of the fun (and often free) things to do this week in the heart of Georgia!
FRIDAY, October 24th
18th Annual Central Georgia Greek Festival (10/24-10/26) (11 a.m.-9 p.m.)
The Central Georgia Greek Festival returns this Friday and Saturday. This family-friendly festival features authentic Greek food, tours of the live music by Nick Trivelas and the Aegeans, dancing by Areti of the Atlanta Cathedral and Holy Cross Youth Dance Troupe, and vendors selling art, jewelry, religious items, and more. On Sunday, the festival will take place from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. This unique free event is free and open to the public.

The Oc-TOBO-Fest will take place Friday through Sunday at Lake Tobesofkee’s Sandy Beach. This fall festival will feature arts, crafts, food trucks, music, and KidZone, and more, according to the organizers. There is a $3 per person entry to park at Sandy Beach Park (kids under 6 get in free) for Oc-TOBO-Fest.

Halloween at the Plaza in Eatonton (3:30-5 p.m.)
Halloween at the Plaza will take place at Eatonton’s Plaza Arts Center this Friday. Halloween costumes are highly encouraged for attendees at Halloween at the Plaza. This free, family-friendly event will feature “crafts, treats and more.”

Death After Dark Tours at Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion (6,7,8 p.m.)
Just in time for Halloween-season, Death After Dark Tours will take place this Friday starting at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m. on Friday. The brave attendees will gather at Georgia's Old Governor's Mansion to “explore the fascinating (and sometimes unsettling) deathways of the 19th century…[f]rom embalming and mourning rituals to questions of class, race, and gender.” Tickets to the Death After Dark Tours cost $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $4 for Georgia College & State University students and staff. Scream Queens: A Ghouls Night Out (7 p.m.-12 a.m.)
Enjoy a spooky girls’ night out at the classy Emerson at Plum during Scream Queens: A Ghouls Night. Enjoy sipping Halloween-themed cocktails, dancing to music from a DJ, shopping at a vendor market, taking part in a costume contest, and snapping epic pics in front of cool backdrops. Tickets to Scream Queen: A Ghouls Night cost $10 at the door, or you can purchase them online at this link.

Sky Over Macon at the Museum of Arts and Sciences (7 p.m.)
Get a peek at the stars and planets at the Museum of Arts and Science’s Sky Over Macon this Friday. Attendees will enjoy a Planetarium Show at 7:30 p.m. and skywatching in the museum’s Observatory (if weather permits) at 8:15 p.m. Sky Over Macon is included in the price of museum admission, while museum members get in free.

ROAD TRIP: Stargazing at Sprewell Bluff Park in Thomaston (8 p.m.)
Gather with the Flint River Astronomy Club in the scenic Sprewell Bluff Park on Friday to look at and learn more about the universe around. Attendees will have a choice between multiple telescopes, but are encouraged to bring their own. This astronomical event will take place in the park’s Day Use Area by the Flint River. There is a $5 park fee per vehicle for Stargazing at Sprewell Bluff Park

MUSIC: Live at Vice Bar Featuring Tier Blue and Stay Here (10 p.m.)
Stay Here, a 4-piece rock and roll band from Atlanta, will be performing at Vice Bar this Friday night. Middle Georgia’s Tier Blue will be filming a live music video during Stay Here’s set. There is no cover for this concert/music video filming.

Lake Oconee Fall Farmers Market (9 a.m.-1 p.m.)
Lake Oconee Farmers Market will feature a storytime from Lake Country Books & Gifts, a raffle for a basket of items from the farmers market for everyone who shows up in costumes (weather two or four legged), and a chance to shop for “produce, meat, dairy, eggs, baked goods, and more” from more than 40 vendors. The Lake Oconee Fall Farmers Market takes place every Saturday morning and is free and open to attend.

Barnyard Festival at Simply Southern Barn (10 a.m.-5 p.m.)
The Barnyard Festival at Simply Southern Barn will include “food, crafts, music, and fall fun.” Admission for the family-friendly Barnyard Festival costs $5.

Pumpkins & Paws at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services (12-4 p.m.)
Pumpkins & Paws is a unique event from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services where you can adopt an adorable dog or cat for free, shop with vendors, eat from food trucks, play in the Kids Zone, and get your pets microchipped for free. This family-friendly event is free to attend.

22nd Annual Jazz & Arts on Riverdale (12-6 p.m.)
The theme for this year’s Jazz & Arts on Riverdale is The Great Gatsby, and attendees are encouraged to wear clothes that represent the finest fashion of the 1920s. There will be performances from The Class Act Band of Middle Georgia and The JAMbassadors as well as the headliner of the festival, Louis Heriveaux Quartet, a pianist from Atlanta whose performances are said to be out of this world. The 22nd Annual Jazz & Arts on Riverdale is family-friendly and free and open to the public.

Trucks and Treats 2025 at the Atrium Health Amphitheater (12-3 p.m.)
Enjoy your Halloween early with Trucks & Treats 2025 at the Atrium Health Amphitheater this Saturday. This event features arts and crafts vendors, interactive games, food trucks, and more. It is presented by Atrium Health Navicent, Piedmont Construction Group, and Prince Service + Manufacturing and features spookily decorated vehicles as well as trucks and emergency vehicles to explore. There will also be a sensory-friendly hour a those who prefer a low-stimulation experience from 12 to 1 p.m. Trucks and Treats 2025 is free and open to the public.

Rigby’s Trick or Treat 2025 at Rigby’s Water World (1:30-3:30 p.m.)
Rigby’s Water World Plaza will present its annual Halloween event this Saturday with more than 1,500 people expected to attend. Expect plenty of spooky decorations, sweet candy, and creepy costumes at Rigby’s Trick of Treat 2025. Rigby’s Trick or Treat is free to attend, according to Rigby’s World’s website.

MUSIC: Macon Open Mic at Vice Bar, JBA, and The Hummingbird (4-8 p.m.)
Macon Open Mic returns to Downtown Macon this Saturday with performances taking place at The Hummingbird Stage & Taproom, JBA, and Vice Bar. Performers must be 18 years or older and use only acoustic instruments with no backing tracks. While covers are welcome during Macon Open Mic, the organizers prefer original music. Register by emailing andrew@thebirdstage.com with "Macon Open Mic - YOUR NAME" in the subject line and include your desired set time (though there is no guarantee it will be open). Macon Open Mic is free and open to those 18 years or older.

Screen on the Green: “Coco” in the Community Garden at Centenary Community Ministries (4 p.m.)
Watch a screening of Disney’s “Coco” in Centenary Church’s community garden during this Day of the Dead/Dia De Los Muertos celebration. This event is also a fundraiser for Centenary Community Ministries. The suggested donation for this Screen on the Green event is $25 and includes a chance to build the community ofrenda, dinner, and the movie screening.

SPORTS: Glammed vs. Damned at Gray-8-Skate Center (5-10 p.m.)
The Middle Georgia Derby Demons will hold their Halloween Scrimmage Mixer this Saturday at the Gray-8-Skate Center. The theme for this exciting night of roller derby will be the popular Netflix animated show KPop Demon Hunters. The first bout will be Demons (Pink) vs. Demon Hunters (Black) (WFTDA REGULATION) and the second bout will be Huntrix (Black) vs. Saja Boys (Pink). Tickets to Glammed vs. Damned cost $10 for kids 2 to 12 years old and $12 for adults online at this link.

SPORTS: Opening Night of Macon Mayhem Hockey: Mayhem vs. Havoc (6 p.m.)
Macon Mayhem professional hockey returns this Saturday when the Mayhem face off against the Huntsville Havoc. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the puck drop starts off the excitement at 6 p.m. There will also be a postgame skate for those who want to get on the ice after the game. Bark after Dark at Barks N Brews (8-10 p.m.)
Bark After Dark is an event for both people and their dogs (and even people without dogs are invited to the party). DJ Pickles will be performing at this unique celebration. Dogs require a day or month pass or membership for entry to this family-friendly event, which you can find out more about at this link.

Hike at Rose Hill Cemetery (10 a.m.)
Enjoy a hike through historic and somewhat spooky Rose Hill Cemetery this Sunday. Attendees will walk about 2 miles while host Pam Pinkston talks about some of those who call Rose Hill Cemetery their final resting place. Meet at Rose Hill Cemtery’s College Street entrance, where there is a parking lot across from the caretaker's house to take part in the free event.

Smileys Flea Market’s Halloween Celebration (12-3 p.m.)
Smileys Flea Market Macon will host its annual Halloween event this Sunday. This family-friendly event will include a costume contest and a spooky Halloween surprise that will surprise some unexpected victims…I mean attendees. More than 1,000 people are expected at this free event.

Macon Witches Float at Amerson River Park (2-5 p.m.)
Visit Macon sponsors the return of Macon's Witches Float this Sunday This annual event is now presented by Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions. Participants are encouraged to bring feminine product donations for Macon Periods Easier to be entered to win prizes including a paddle excursion from Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions. Check-in and shuttles to the launch run from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Porter Pavilion in Amerson River Park, with the Witches' Gathering and float departure at 3:30 p.m. from the Jay Hall Memorial Canoe Launch. Those who wear costumes and decorate their flotation devices as spookily as possible will have a chance to win a $100 gift card for Best Dressed presented by Visit Macon. Tickets for the Macon Witches Float start at $20 (for shuttle only for solo crafts) and can be purchased online at this link.

The Great Cauldron Cook-Off and Fall Festival at The Society Garden (4 p.m.)
Court of Miracles presents The Great Cauldron Cookoff: Fall Festival at The Society Garden this Sunday. This event includes a cookoff, with prizes for the best food items like warm beverages, soups and stews, and fondues and melty dishes. The cookoff’s Judges’ Choice winner will receive $100 in cash and a Golden Cauldron Trophy and the People’s Choice winner will receive a $50 Society Garden gift card. This fall festival will also feature a costume contest for dogs, craft vendors, live music from the Alex Stone Trio, and a cake walk. Classics at the Bibb: “Clue” (7 p.m.)
Classics at the Bibb returns to Downtown Macon with a screening of the dark comedy mystery “Clue” (1985) as it is projected onto the front of the Bibb Theatre. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or picnic blankets to relax in Third Street Park while viewing the film. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.
