This weekend in the heart of Georgia, the adventurous can attend unique events like the Cherry Blossom Weiner Dog Race during the 44th International Cherry Blossom Festival, an art party from the talents at the OAG, and much, much more. The following are just a few of the fun, interesting, and often free things to do this weekend in the heart of Georgia.



FRIDAY, March 20th

  >> SPORTS: Pinkest Pickleball Party on the Planet Pickleball Tournament at Tattnall Square Park (3/20-3/24) (8 a.m.)

The International Cherry Blossom Festival, aka the Pinkest Party on Earth, brings with it many special events like the Pinkest Pickleball Party on the Planet. This tournament will include Singles games on Friday, Men’s and Women’s Doubles on Saturday, Mixed Doubles on Sunday, 60+ Men’s and Women’s Doubles on next Monday, and 60+ Mixed Doubles on next Tuesday.   >> 44th Annual International Cherry Blossom Festival Opening Ceremony at Central City Park (12 p.m.)

State and local dignitaries, the Cherry Blossom Board of Directors, and members of the Middle Georgia Community will celebrate the arrival of the Cherry Blossom Festival this Friday with an opening ceremony in Central City Park (aka Carolyn Crayton Park). Entry to the Cherry Blossom Festival events in Central City Park costs $10 at the gate for adults, with children 10 and under getting in for free.

  >> ART: Ides of March at the Former Green Light Gallery in Macon (6-11:59 p.m.)

The Ocmulgee Artist Guild (OAG) will present “Ides of March,” a fine-art exhibit and art party, on Friday night. This unique event pays homage to Spring and the start to the International Cherry Blossom Festival. The artwork will be themed around the “idea of mythology, nautre, and the Greenman aesthetic,” according to OAG. Reasonably priced artwork from over a dozen talented local artists will be on display and available for purchase. “Ides of March” is family-friendly until sundown, with complimentary drinks for patrons 21 and older. This event is free and open to the public.

  >> HOCKEY: St. Patrick’s Day at the Macon Mayhem vs. Fayetteville Marksmen Game in the Macon Coliseum (7 p.m.)

The Macon Mayhem professional hockey team will face off against the Fayetteville Marksmen this Friday. The theme for the game will be St. Patrick’s Day, presented by Wesleyan College. The Mayhem promise “festive fun, themed contests, and maybe even a pot of gold.” Doors open at 6 p.m. and the puck drop takes place at 7 p.m. Tickets to this game start at $17.35 online.

  >> MUSIC: Rob Garrett & The Pretty Amazing Band (Neil Diamond Tribute) at Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton (7 p.m.)

Rob Garrett of New York City will be performing a Neil Diamond tribute along with The Pretty Amazing Band this Friday at Eatonton’s Plaza Arts Center. Expect to hear many of Diamond’s hits such as “Sweet Caroline”, “Song Sung Blue,” and “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers.” Ticket prices for this show start at $45 online.

  >> MUSIC: Hustle Souls at The Hummingbird (9:30 p.m.-1 a.m.)

Asheville’s Hustle Souls will perform Retro-Soul, New Orleans Brass, and Singer-Songwriter Americana music at The Hummingbird this Friday. The Hummingbird will charge a $5 cover for this show.

SATURDAY, March 21st

  >> 45th Annual Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers (3/21-3/22) (10 a.m.-5 p.m.)

Did you know that Macon’s International Cherry Blossom Festival isn’t the only Cherry Blossom Festival in Georgia? The two-day 45th Annual Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival will include hundreds of artisan vendors, food trucks, live food demonstrations with Proof of the Pudding, and much more. Attendees who dress in pink can even win prizes during the festival. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

  >> Grand Opening of Big Air Warner Robins (10 a.m.-10 p.m.)

Big Air Warner Robins will hold its grand opening this Saturday with giveaways, prizes, and special opening day membership deals.   >> Springfest 2026 in Byron’s North Peach Park (10 a.m.-2 p.m.)

Peach County Parks & Recreation will present Springfest 2026 in North Peach Park in Byron on Saturday. This family-friendly festival will include a chance to get photographs with the Easter Bunny (10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.), an Easter Egg Hunt for 4 different age ranges of kids (11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), performances by poets, musicians, storytellers, and local children’s authors, food trucks, and more. Attendees are asked to bring their own baskets for the Easter Egg Hunt. This event is free and open to the public.

  >> 6th Annual Sweet Tooth Festival in Madison (12 p.m)

The 6th Annual Sweet Tooth Festival will include a cake-off, free cake samples, live music, vendors, games, giveaways, and more, according to its organizers. Admission to the festival will cost $5 for adults; kids 10 and under get in free.

  >> Saturday at the Rock - Egg Hunt and Hike at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton (12-2 p.m.)

The Rock Eagle 4-H Center will celebrate the arrival of spring with a spring egg hunt and guided hike this Saturday. Attendees will meet at the Diane Davies Museum of Natural History, then hike up to the center’s historic Pioneer Site for an egg hunt, explore nature trails, and do outdoor crafts. The cost for this family-friendly event is $5.00 per person, and children 4 and under are free with a paying adult.

  >> Cherry Blossom Wiener Dog Race and Musical Chairs in Downtown Macon (12-1:30 p.m.)

Adorable but fierce dachshund dogs will be racing each other down Cherry Street for the bragging rights of being the “Fastest Wiener Dog in Middle Georgia” this Saturday afternoon. This hilarious, popular event isn’t the only fun Cherry Blossom-related thing to do downtown on Saturday. The Dock Diving Dogs, Cherry Blossom Car Show, Cherry Blossom Inflatable Musical Chairs, and the Cherry Blossom Bed Race will also take place during the afternoon. These events draw lots of people, so show up early if you want a good view of all the action. These family-friendly events are free and open to the public.

  >> MUSIC: Reverb Room Rave at the Reverb Room in Warner Robins (9 p.m.-1 a.m.)

The Reverb Room Rave will include live performances from 5 talented electronic dance music (EDM) DJs: 3.Nigma, Forastettik, Frontlines, Old Flame, and The Rizzard. Tickets for this 18 and up event cost $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

  >> MUSIC: Late Night Comedy at The Society Garden (10 p.m.)

The Comedy’s Best Kept Secret Tour, along with comedian Dan Frigolette, will entertain patrons at Macon’s The Society Garden late Saturday night. Frigolette is a comedian, actor, and producer who has appeared on MTV, HBO, Boardwalk Empire, and more. Tickets are $20 online at this link.

SUNDAY, March 22nd

  >> Repot & Refresh: A Guided Plant Care Workshop at Cam’s Plants in Macon (1-2:30 p.m.)

Those with green thumbs, and those who want to develop their green thumbs, might be interested in Repot & Refresh, a guided plant care workshop taking place at Cam’s Plants in Macon’s Historic Ingleside Village. This workshop will be the very first class in the Cam’s Plants Workshop Series. Each attendee will bring 1 plant, in a pot 8” or smaller, to learn how to repot it with Cam’s Plants’ premium chunky soil mix. During this unique workshop, attendees will learn everything from identifying healthy and unhealthy roots to how to reduce transplant shock. Tickets to Cam’s Plants’ Propagation Class cost $35 online.

  >> Cherry Blossom Parade in Downtown Macon (3 p.m.)

The Cherry Blossom Festival Parade will include colorful floats, marching bands, waving dignitaries, and more. This year’s parade route starts on Cherry Street, then turns right onto First Street, and finally turns right onto Mulberry Street. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

NOTABLE EVENTS NEXT WEEK:

 > Monday, March 23rd through Friday, March 27th, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.: Cherry Blossom Third Street Park Festivities: This annual event takes place every year during the International Cherry Blossom Festival and includes live music, free Coca-Cola, and pink treats > Thursday, March 26th, 4-7 p.m.: Sins and Sounds along the Fall Line at Vice Bar. This unique event from Angelheaded Hipster Press and Storytellers Macon will include local musicians and storytellers performing in Downtown Macon’s Vice Bar.


 > Saturday, March 28th, 5 p.m.: Battle of the Bands 2026 at stARTup Studios. stARTup Studios will host Battle of the Bands next Saturday, where musicians will perform their best original songs for prizes and bagging rights. Tickets cost $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
