This weekend, a new water park opens in Baldwin County, unique shopping experiences will take place at Hello Boba Cafe and ReStore Community Day, live music will be performed on stages across Middle Georgia, and much more. Some outdoor events are already being cancelled due to potential inclement weather, but there are many things to do inside, safe from torrential rain. The following are just a few of the fun, interesting, and often free things to do this weekend in the heart of Georgia.
FRIDAY, May 29th
>> Ribbon Cutting of the Baldwin County Aquatic Center in Milledgeville (9:30 a.m.)
The Baldwin County Aquatic Center, aka the Splash Baldwin Water Park, will officially be open after a ribbon-cutting ceremony this Friday morning. This new attraction will have a main pool with shallow and deep areas, a slow-moving lazy river, water slides, an interactive splash pad, and more. Attendees must download the OttoApp to use as a pool entry pass and follow the facility rules posted here. Standard admission to the Baldwin County Aquatic Center is $12, family season passes cost $250, a single season pass costs $85, and children under 3 get in free.

The Macon Area Habitat for Humanity ReStore will hold its annual Community Day this Friday with a DJ, games, local vendors, kids’ activities, raffle prizes, and more. There is no charge to attend this family-friendly shopping event.

Hello Boba Cafe will present a Pop-Up Market on Friday with vendors selling anime merchandise, fan art, collectibles, and more. There is no cover charge to attend this shopping event.

>> Bike Walk Macon’s Car Free Day 2026 (12 a.m.-11:59 p.m.)
Bike Walk Macon encourages Middle Georgians to walk, bike, ride the bus, carpool, or work from home on Friday during Car Free Day. Not traveling by car can help reduce traffic, lower emissions, improve air quality, and save money, according to Bike Walk Macon. You can pledge to go car-free this Friday at this link. Car Free Day 2026 participants will start with a breakfast meetup at Macon Bagels (470 Third Street) from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., travel to Margaritas in Mercer Village for a lunch outing via Macon’s Transfer Station (200 Cherry Street) at 11:40 a.m., and return to the Transfer Station at 1:30 p.m., and finally meet up at Fall Line Brewing Co. (567 Plum Street) for a celebration of creating “safer, more accessible streets for all.” There is no charge to take part in Bike Walk Macon’s Car Free Day 2026.

>> DANCE: Learn to Two Step at the American Legion Post 3 in Macon (6:30 p.m.)
Learn the two-step from dance instructor Dwayne at American Legion Post 3 on Friday evening. After the dance lesson, a DJ will give attendees a chance to practice their dance moves. There is a $5 cover for this dance event.

>> MUSIC: Strictly Liquid at The Hummingbird (9:30 p.m.-1 a.m.)
Strictly Liquid brings their funky psychedelic jam band sound to Downtown Macon’s The Hummingbird this Friday night. Strictly Liquid is a rock and roll jamband from Florida who were influenced by bands like The Allman Brothers Band, The Beatles, and Pink Floyd, according to the band’s website. There is a $5 cover to attend this show.

>> MUSIC: Shy Company at Vice Bar (10 p.m.)
The female-led alternative indie rock band Shy Company will play an intimate show for patrons at Vice Bar late Friday night. The Macon’s band’s debut album, Growing Pains, is now available for purchase on Shy Company’s website. There is no cover for this show.

Macon-Bibb Emergency Management Agency will present its 4th annual 2026 Emergency Preparedness Fair this Saturday at Macon’s Theron Ussery Park Community Center. Three will be free preparedness giveaways, training in CPR, first aid, and Stop the Bleed, public safety vehicle tours, free pet microchipping, and more. There is no charge for this family-friendly event.

>> MUSIC: Aquapalooza Lake Sinclair 2026 in Milledgeville (12 p.m.)
Stacey Blanton, Dallas Rodgers, Ground Hum, 40 Daze, and Thomas Guest at Aquapalooza Lake Sinclair 2026 in Milledgeville this Saturday. This family-friendly event includes raffle prizes, a food truck, and vendors.

The Warner Robins Little Theatre will hold its Community Annual Gala this Saturday evening. The nonprofit community theatre will present a dessert reception, live entertainment, and rousing speeches, while raising money to continue its mission of bringing theatre arts to the Middle Georgia community. There is no cover charge to attend Warner Robins Little Theatre’s Community Annual Gala.

Metalcore fans will unite as Warner Robins’ Confessional performs along with Right Here Right Now, Totem, Below 7, Totem, and No offense on Saturday night at Reverb Room. This is an all-ages show at Warner Robins’ newest DIY music venue. Tickets to this show cost $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

Nero Simon & The Sunsetters will be taking patrons of The Society Garden to Margaritatown, a tribute to Jimmy Buffett and other coastal acts, this Saturday evening. The band will perform original music along with some of the hits of Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Bob Marley, Zac Brown, and more. Tickets for this show cost $15.

Carl Thomas Keifer, lead singer, primary songwriter, and one of the guitarists for the hard rock band Cinderella, will perform at the Macon City Auditorium on Saturday evening. Cinderella was first discovered by Kiss’ Gene Simmons, but he was unsuccessful in getting them signed. L.A. Guns is another hard rock band formed in 1983 in Los Angeles. >> MUSIC: John Hollier & the Rêverie at Grant’s Lounge (9 p.m.)
Macon’s talented Justin Cutway will open for John Hollier & the Rêverie at historic Grant’s Lounge on Saturday night. Hollier is a folk rock artist from Nashville who blends “rock and roll, heartland grit, cinematic storytelling, and southern country soul” to create a unique sound. Tickets to this show cost $10 at the door.

SUNDAY, May 31st
>> Imagine Possibility presents A Disability Justice Film Screening at The Douglass Theatre in Macon (2-4 p.m.)
The Disability Justice Film Screening will feature three short films, “Voice Power,” Doodling for Democracy,” and “The Art of L.C.” on the big screen at The Douglass Theatre this Sunday afternoon. After the screening, filmmakers Robin Rayne and Carl King, and self-advocate Derek Heard, will meet with attendees and talk about their work and “disability justice through film and art.” There is no charge for this screening.

>> MUSIC: Soul Jam 2026 at Brad Henderson Memorial Stadium in Macon (2 p.m.)
King George will headline Soul Jam 2026 this Sunday at Macon’s Henderson Stadium. Attendees will hear soul music, DJ sets, hip hop, and big bands, according to the organizer. Tickets for Soul Jam 2026 are $55.20 on eventbrite.com.

>> YOGA: We Are One: Couples Yoga at Wellness Hug (5-7 p.m.)
Yoga instructor Shanteria Lowe will lead a 2-hour Hatha yoga class designed to celebrate the “sacred bond of partnership, parenthood, and family connection.” The price for this yoga class includes attendance for two, refreshments, and a gift, according to Wellness Hug.
