PRESS RELEASE: Kaiser Permanente physician appointed to national task force


Dr. Ericka Gibson, M.D., M.P.H., is newest member of U.S. Preventive Services Task Force to address health disparities 

ATLANTA — Kaiser Permanente announces Dr. Ericka Gibson, M.D., M.P.H., has been appointed to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (Task Force). As part of the Task Force, Dr. Gibson will work to improve the health of people and communities nationwide. The 4-year term appointment begins January 2025.

Dr. Gibson is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with The Southeast Permanente Medical Group (TSPMG) at Kaiser Permanente in Georgia. As the physician program director for perinatal safety and quality, she ensures patients receive the highest quality maternity care through data collection, data analysis, program design and implementation, protocol development and dissemination, quality improvement, and safety systems oversight.

As an obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Gibson works to advance maternal health and reduce health disparities. She also has expertise in data analysis and translating clinical literature into evidence-based guidelines.

The Task Force is an independent, volunteer panel of national experts in prevention and evidence-based medicine that works to improve the health of people nationwide by making evidence-based recommendations about clinical preventive services such as screenings, counseling services, and preventive medications.
